Aidan O'Hare
Aidan is cast in Oscar Nominee, Palme d'or & Bafta winner JACQUES AUDIARD's new film "THE
SISTERS BROTHERS" which will shoot in Northern Spain. Based on Patrick DeWitt's novel, Gold
prospector Hermann K. Warm (JAKE GYLLENHAAL), is being pursued across 1000 miles of 1850s
Oregon desert to San Francisco by the notorious assassins Eli (JOAQUIN PHOENIX) and Charlie (JOHN C
REILLY) Sisters.
Aidan played 'Kenny O'Donnell' in Pablo Larrain's feature film "JACKIE" which starred Natalie Portman
in the title role. He is cast as 'O'Brien' in Stephen Burke's new feature film "MAZE" alongside main
cast of Tom Vaughan Lawlor, Barry Ward and Martin McCann. MAZE will receive its world premiere
this summer.
Television wise Aidan is cast in RTE's drama series "RESISTANCE" which is currently in post-production,
and he plays Irish MP to Westminister 'Tim Harrington' in Colm Bairéad's new docu-drama "THE
MAAMTRASNA MURDERS". The 1882 Maamtrasna case is a fascinating one and one which director
Colm and producer Ciarán Ó Cofaigh ("AN BRONNTANAS") are very eager to bring to the public's
attention.
Aidan's short film credits include the lead role of 'Principal Finan' in "ACORN" a Filmbase/RTÉ funded
comedy short directed by Kevin de la Isla O'Neill (post-production), the lead role of 'Father Lawrence'
in director Michael Lindley's short film "GOD'S OWN CHILDREN" which is currently screening on the
international film festival circuit.
Other past screen credits include young Roy Keane's football coach in the IFB Signatures Short
"ROCKMOUNT", winner of the Best Irish Short Film at the 2015 IFTAs, Chris O'Dowd's "MOONE BOY 3"
(SKY Television), the BBC Television films "SWITCH" and "FEEL THE FORCE", the feature films
"CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE", "MY BROTHERS", "THE RUNWAY" and "LIFE'S A BREEZE". Aidan is also
well known for his portrayal of 'Steadyboy' in Ken Loach's Palme d'Or winning feature film "THE WIND
THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY".
As well as having worked extensively with renowned Cork based Theatre Companies CORCADORCA
and MERIDIAN, Aidan has performed in and toured with numerous stage productions both here in
Ireland and in the UK. He has performed in The Royal Court Theatre London in "DUCK" and "AFTER
THE FLOOD", and also in Dublin's Olympia Theatre in Tom Barry’s "GUERILLA DAYS IN IRELAND".
