Go to the school website and you may acquire your teacher’s email through our website. You may also call the office and leave a message for the teacher to return your call as soon as possible. PARENTS, PLEASE PLAN AHEAD I am sorry, but we cannot deliver forgotten items for your students such as lunches, homework, money, etc. because it interrupts learning in the classroom for all students. Please make arrangements with your children and/or teacher in advance for all necessary school items. We can always leave a message for a teacher who will retrieve it at her break or at the end of the school day. STUDENT DROP OFF 7:30 – 7:55 a.m. Students should arrive at school between 7:30 a.m. – 7:55 a.m. in order to be on time to school. Students that are on time are lined up when the bell rings and the teacher welcomes them at 8:00 a.m. There is no supervision for children before 7:30 a.m. Students may arrive for breakfast from 7:30 – 7:50 a.m. Parking lot supervisors supervise the school parking lot every morning. Parents, please park in designated parking areas in our lot but never Double Park your vehicle in the school parking lot at any time. Double parking blocks traffic that goes out to our street and this becomes very dangerous. We have also been warned by the police and the fire department not to have cars double-parked in our parking lot and not to block emergency vehicle lane. STUDENT DISMISSAL Please do not leave your child in front of school waiting more than 15 minutes after school because after this time there is no adult supervision for your child. Also, again for safety reasons, please do not double-park your vehicle in our parking lot. Double parking blocks traffic that goes out to our street and this becomes very dangerous. Remember that children are watching all adults around them and that adults set the example for children at all times so please continue to set a great example for all Raymond children. ELECTRONIC DEVICES AT SCHOOL Students may not bring toys or electronic devices to school and we strongly recommend no cell phones at the elementary level. If parent decides that student must have a cell phone, we recommend that they be turned into the school office before school and picked up after school ends. If parent would like student to carry a cell phone in their backpack or pocket during school hours, cell phones must be turned off, powered down, and put away at all times while on campus. The school is not responsible for lost or damaged cell phones and the school will not investigate cell phone loss or misplacement. Phones within eyesight of a school official or phones that disrupt learning, will be confiscated, and parent will be required to pick up the phone, by appointment, from the school principal. Phones left on, will result in an office discipline referral (ODR). If a student needs to use a phone during school hours, they must report to the office and use the office phone. STUDENT DRESS CODE The dress code for Raymond students reflects an emphasis on health and safety for work and play. Shoes must be safe and permit running activities. Children should wear a low heel covered shoe, such as a tennis shoe. School clothes should be comfortable and designed for safety. Clothing should not detract from the academic program. For this reason, we do not allow bare midriffs, extremely baggy clothing, bare shoulders, bare upper legs or very short shorts and ear stretching earrings. We also do not accept inappropriate pictures, words or advertisements on clothing, such as those that promote violence, inappropriate language, alcohol, tobacco or drugs. All shorts, skirts, and dresses should be no shorter than fingertip length when arms are straight to the side. Also, make-up and artificial nails are not allowed at school. A student who comes to school without proper attention to grooming and dress will need to call a parent to have acceptable clothing brought to school. RAYMOND SCHOOL PARKING LOT SAFETY REMINDERS • • • • • • • • • Help keep safety a priority in the parking lot by obeying the traffic duty personnel and posted signs. If walking your child to school, consider parking off-site and walking in. Arrive between 7:30-7:45, the lot doesn’t back up until 7:50. Stay in your vehicle and never leave your car unattended. If you park, wait to leave until the back up is over, especially if you are in handicap parking spot. Please do not park in the handicapped spaces unless you have a sticker. Please do not double-park behind parked cars in our lot. In the mornings, when you pull into the parking lot for drop off, please pull up as far as you are able to and as close to the Multi Purpose Room as possible. This will keep traffic moving safely into our parking lot entrance. At the end of the school day, please do not enter the parking lot through the exit. Additional information is on our school and district website under student handbook. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me for further clarification.
