Pictures in photoshop are measured in inches or pixels
measured in inches or pixels.
•
Sizing is done using Image Size or Canvas Size.
Size
•
A pixel is one screen dot.
•
•
If your work is sized at (W) 300 pixels by (H) 200 pixels, it means there are 300 dots horizontally y
and 200 dots vertically.
IMAGE size will calculate automatically the width or height f
from either (W) or (H) number h ( ) ( )

you assign.

The entire picture will get bigger or smaller.

CANVAS size is a defined size by you both in width and height and
you both in width and height and cropping will occur.
•
Photoshop is all about layers. Think of layers in photoshop as highlighted segments in Word
