MAY 2015 NEWSLETTER
AOH President’s Message
I can’t believe that two years have already passed since
the Boston Marathon bombing and subsequent shootout just days
later in Watertown. The time may have passed quickly, for some,
but the memories continue to linger.
The Very Rev. Robert L. Connors, V.F., PhD was the guest
speaker at our Annual Communion Breakfast this past Sunday. It
was a beautiful Mother’s Day and a time enjoyed by all. Many
thanks to the kitchen crew: Jen, Buddy, Dick, Peter and Ron for
putting out a great breakfast.
Please welcome our newest members of the Don McAdam
Class that were brought in this past month. Depending on our
numbers we plan to bring in one more class before the summer
break.
The revised amendments to the Division by-laws have
been formatted in a smaller booklet format. Please attend the
Division meeting on Thursday (5/14) evening at 7 P.M. to review
the new format and provide any additional recommendations for
the booklet prior to final print.
The Scholarship Social will be this coming Friday (5/15)
beginning sometime close to 7 P.M., to be honest the interest in
attending has been lackluster at best and it would be
embarrassing to not have a decent membership representation for
these very deserving young men and women.
Memorial Day and the annual parade is only three weeks
away and it would be nice if we could have a few of our younger
Watertown Strong members march this year. If you are so inclined
please join us and have your families come to the club afterwards
for a cookout and a time to share with family and friends.
Finally, now that Easter is behind us I hope you were able
to take the time to reflect on what is important in your lives and
realize how blessed we are for the sacrifice Jesus made for us on
the cross.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,
Joseph P. McCusker Jr.
