HOS Welcome
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! I am Perry Daniel, the
Head of School. We are excited that you have chosen
Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy as your school for
the 2015-2016 school year. Our staff and administration
worked diligently over the summer to prepare to serve
your educational needs for this school year. It is our desire that every student will work hard to meet or exceed their academic potential. I challenge
each student and learning coach to be actively engaged in class, attend all
LAVCA required events, and consistently communicate with the teachers.
If you can do these things, combined with the efforts of our staff and administration, we will have a great school year.

Principal’s Greeting
Hello and welcome to a new school year with Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy. I am thrilled to be a part as LAVCA serving as your
academic administrator. I am proud to be a part of a school that has
family and parent involvement as a key part of a student’s progress
and academic growth. As we begin this school year together, I look
forward to working with you to meet the individual needs of our students in LAVCA. I hope that you will attend the school events throughout the year
so that I can say hello to each and every student. I challenge you to set some academic goals with your homeroom teacher within the next couple of weeks and work
hard this year to achieve those goals. Please plan to attend our Monday morning
meetings and I will be able to share more of our school vision and strategies with
you in those events. Good luck on your first few days of school! ~Kayleen Marble

Mingles
Attendance
(MMM’s)
Please make sure that you log attendance
daily in the Learning Coach account.
The Monday Morning Mingles are
done by homeroom teachers and
administration. They are student
centered meetings for students to
share successes, meet and interact with their classmates, and build
relationships with their homeroom
teachers. It is also an opportunity
for student achievement to be
recognized and shared across the
school.
6 hours per day
30 hours weekly
1062 hours for school year
Outings
Monthly we hold outings for the students to meet and socialize with each other. We encourage families to go to our
outings to build friendships, meet teachers, and enjoy fun and
educational activities together.
Expected
Progress
Students are expected to make 2 1/2
to 3% of progress in each of their
classes weekly. This happens by
taking your daily checkpoints.
Students must meet progress requirements during the school year in order
to be promoted to the next grade.
The MMM’s will be held at
8:30a.m. each Monday.
K-Mails
Please check your k-mail on a daily basis. This will be the primary form of contact in our
virtual setting. You will receive a weekly E-Newsletter in your k-mail from your homeroom
teacher with all the most pertinent information you need to know.
