Pack as lightly as possible. Your space at camp will be very limited. We
recommend 1 nice outfit for church Sunday morning 7/6. You will also need to
wear your Messiah Workcamp shirt on Sunday 6/29 & 7/13.
Plan what you’ll be wearing. When you return from your worksite each day, cleanup and change into the clothes you’ll be wearing at your worksite the next day. This
will cut down on the number of outfits you’ll be bringing. (And on dirty laundry for
mom when you get home.)
Make sure you have your 1 gal insulated water cooler!!!
Pack a separate small bag for Friday to Sunday. This bag will be put in the Bus for
easy access upon arrival at Cedar Point. Pack your bedding separate from your
workcamp items for this same reason.
You will need to mark any tools you bring with blue and white tape. That is how
you will know what is yours from the other churches we will be working with. You
will be able to bring your tools and workcamp stuff to load in the trailer Thursday
7/3 from 4-6pm before Delta Hour. Everything except your overnight bag will
need to be here by that day!
Cell phones and personal electronic devices will be allowed on this trip. However,
when we get to base camp, all items other than cell phones will be locked up in the
church Bus. *Note: bringing these items is at your own risk.
Dave will give you your cash for meals during travel. You will get $40 for the trip
to workcamp 3 meals; and when you leave workcamp, you will get $15 for the trip
home 1 meal + snacks.
We will have several “Team Meals” Breakfast* and Lunch** @ Cedar Point. Sun.
breakfast*, Sun. Lunch “Last good meal,”& Wed. Dinner.
You may want to bring extra cash for souvenirs/entertainment such as the movies,
snacks, or shopping for our ½ day.
Please remember to pack sunscreen, and a swimsuit and towel if you are going to
the water park on our Cedar Point day
For the shower, shower shoes are a must. It might be a good idea to pack some sort
of bag to carry all of your toiletry needs to and from the washroom.
No open-toed shoes at the worksite!
We are leaving the Youth House on July 4th at 9am CDT
Dave’s cell phone # 815-483-1814. Matt’s is 815-592-2043

We will start calling when we are 30 minutes away. If we will be really early or
really late, I will call as soon as we realize that.
*Breakfast will be Cereal, Donuts, Juice & Milk
** Sandwiches, Chips & Pop
(There are refrigerators and Microwaves in our cabins @ CP)
Support Letters
If you have received support letters you will be given a list of who is supporting you by
Sunday, June 29. You should pick up postcards and address and put stamps on them
before we leave! You will send an up-date to everyone on your list from work camp on
Wed. You will also send a letter to each supporter after you return home. This should be
done in the first week so things are still fresh in your mind!
We have already sent cards acknowledging the receipt of support on your behalf. So
nothing is required until after we are under way!
These people are praying for you and many have given you financial support, the least
you can do is send a personal note to each of them and a report on the mission!
Sunday June 29
At the 10am service we will have a commissioning for all the work campers. We want
you to wear your workcamp T-shirt that day.
Thursday July 3 4-6:00pm
Bring to the church: personal tools, (mark any personal tools with Blue & White paint or
tape- it is our color code for this camp) sleeping bags and cots/mattress on this day so we
can load the trailer. We will have a short meeting that day as well.
Friday July 4
We will be leaving at 9am and traveling to Cedar Point. Please arrive no later than
8:30pm so we can leave on time. Again pack as lightly as possible. Your space at camp
will be very limited.
Pack a separate small bag for Friday to Sunday. This bag will be put in the Bus for easy
access upon arrival at Cedar Point and churches. You will also use this bag for our return
trip but will be able to repack it for the trip home while at work camp. Your bedding
should already be in the trailer by this day!
You are expected to wear your work camp T-shirt on Sunday July 6 so pack it in your
small bag!
Clothing at workcamp
You will get dirty. I usually end up having to throw away a shirt or two after work camp.
Guys must wear shirts at all times on work site and at base camp. Girls, Reach’s policy is
no belly buttons or bra straps showing. Tank tops should have a 1” strap, NO spaghetti
straps. Remember folks, we are representing Christ, so dress modestly and make sure
you don’t have anything that could offend printed on your clothing.
Insurance Cards
Each Workcamper will need to have their insurance card with them while at work camp.
We will hold on to them while traveling and return them to you when we arrive home.
