Before starting, take all the papers of the “essential kit” and place them above your working
area .
Look at them and decide which are the ones you like most and choose 6 (basic gray and
Sassafrass)
I have chosen these :
Cut off the edges of the Sassafra lass papers and reserve them for later and we'll cut the white
stripe paper of the BG papers.
Start folding them all in half.
Once all the papers are folded we will start creating the pages .
The measures are as follows:
o
3 pages de 30cm x 22 cm. (12”x8.5”)
o
1 page de 30 x 19 cm. (12”x7.5”)
o
2 pages de 23 x 9.5 cm. (9”x3”¾) (these pages will be made with the leftover papers)
o
1 page de 20 x 20 cm. (8”x8”)
o
1 page 17 x 20 cm (6” ¾ x 8”)
We'll start up the album the way we love the most. The front cover and back are made with
the 12”x8.5” pages.

The structure of my album is as follows:
2 pages of 12”x8.5” ,1 page of 12”x7.5” , 1 page of 9”x3”¾, 1 page of 8”x8” , 1 page of 6”
¾ x 8” cm. , 1 page of 12”x8.5” , pouch 9”x3”¾ *
You now have the structure of the album complete:
( To gather all the pages of the album, you will do it with an elastic, the commun one,
beige, (the kind of elastic that tear out the hair if you do a pony tail with it).
You will probably think ..... And how I'm gonna do it ??? It's very simple ....
Now that the structure of your album is complete and in place, you're going to put the
elastic in the middle of the album, where you fold your paper
(see drawing)

The elastic gathering all the pages:
If you think that your elastic is too large, you only need to make a knot so that the
elastic will be a little more tense
When you've finished assembling your album with the elastic, sands all the edges of
your pages using a foot file (pumice-lime) which is much stiffer than a normal nail
lime, found in a supermarket at a very low price (the store brand work fine).

It is a very economic way to "distress". These limes sanding are super strong and
sometimes, for certain papers, they work much better because they are much more
rigid. For some parts of the "distress" that I did, I used the sanding block from Tim
Holtz.
And now we will work on the pages!
I did all the pages in the same style.
I used the BG paper tape, buttons and a few embellishments that we had as an extra
last month. The diecut (mini cards) Paper Whimsies and flowers of Sassafras lass:
The trend in this mini albumm is to use a large part of the kit, including flag borders, stickers
and labels. .
So I tried to use the more embellishments as possible! But we must also remember to use the
old things we have at home! What remains of our other kits of the previous months.

Alphabets, Glimmers mist, stickers, ribbons and stamps.
From my point of view, kits are there to use it all! Use ALL the kit. To blend and combine
differents textures, models and including brands!
Well, we begin!
We will leave the cover for the end.
We'll start with the first page:
This page is decorated with a single photo. I add a few pieces of masking tape on the bottom
of my page, a little bit of glimmer mist (turquoise), then, glue my picture, add a flower
(Sassafrass), a few pieces of flag banners (blue circles, top of the page) and decorative paper
tape (ribbons Doilies Basic Grey under the picture)

Use glue dots 3D to give more height/volume to your flowers and other embellishment. Add a
title to your page.
In the following pages, I put a large picture (11cmX14.5cm). After adhering the picture, we
will give the final touch with stickers, flag banners and other elements (circles) of the package
of flowers Sassafras.
You can also put a few pieces of masking tape if you like and a title.
We will now make the smallest page

Adhere a picture (7.5cmX10cm) and a title.
The other side of the page contains a single word (magic) and that word, I redraw with a fine
tip black marker
On the next page, the photo is the protagonist. We will decorate it with only a few small
embelishments (flowers, mini title and paper tape). Note that I use alot the staples for the
ribbons and small embellishments.

The next page is decorated with a tag (kraft) outlined with a fine tip black marker, 2 diecut
Paper Whimsies numbers/words (Sassafras lass), masking tape and a flower (Sassafras lass).
You can also had a piece of paper tape from Basic Grey.
Put a title at your page and give some depth to the letters, make a line around the letters with a
black marker (fine tip).

For the next page, we will use 1 of the paper borders that we had reserved at the beginning
and a title.
TIP: Normally, we do not always have all the vocals we need when we get to half
of our project, but there is always a solution ..... Consider using numbers to replace
the missing letters .... Here I use the #3 upside down to replace the "E".

The next two pages have a similar style.
With a piece of paper that we have from the leftover, we will use it to frame the picture of the
left page. To finish the page, we will decorate it with a flower, a piece of flag banners and
diecut (Paper whimsies). To give a touch of "vintage" I used a piece of tape from Tim Holtz.
On the right page, adhere the picture ( 11cmX14.5cm) and a few embellishments (flowers,
buttons, ribbon) on the picture:

On this page, we will put some masking tape, a tag on which you will spray a little bit of
glimmer mist (turquoise), a wallet size photo (7.5cmX10cm) and a diecut card with a number
as decoration.
The right page is "clean", I just adhere 2 wallet size photos (7.5cmX10) and a piece of the
paper border (Sassafras Lass). I did not want to put more embellishments because the
background of the paper is very decorative.

Now, we will work on the middle pages.
We will also make the small pocket (blue stripe) that you see on this page.
On the right page, I put a large picture (11cmX14.5cm) and some small embellishments,
giving all the emphasis that I wanted.

TIP: Use the dominant color of the photo to use your embellishments. Like buttons,
stickers and ribbons.
The small pouch we will make will be to keep a picture that you can remove easily.
We will made the pouch from the papers that left at the beginning and we will use the elastic
to close it and maintain the pouch in the middle of the album and at the other end, we will
close it with glue or stapples.
The elastic
We will decorate the pouch with a flower or a title.
We will do that on both sides:

I use the main page to write the history of the album.
With a photo (7.5cmX10cm), which is the same as the cover.
I decorate the page based on the predominant color in the photo (green) and for
embellishments, I used a color that would contrast with the green. I use red.

For the next two pages, we will do them using two pictures that they are alike,
forefront if possible.

To decorate the two pages, I used masking tape, buttons, flowers and ribbon
(Sassafra lass and Basic Grey).
I also added a piece of the edge of one of Sassafras lass paper (that we reserved at the
beginning), between the flower and photo. (See photo)
The right page has been decorated by giving all the emphasis on the photo.
For this page, I used a vertical photo (forefront) to decorate and put the title on the
picture:

The next two pages will be made with full size photos wallet (7.5cmX10cm):
Because these two pages are narrow, we will use with the embellisments that we love
most. I used a tag, a small piece of paper and also a flower.
We will now decorate the next two pages and we will soon be over!

With a piece of paper that were left from the beginning, we will framed our photo
(7.5cmX10cm).
Decorate it with a flower and a Tim Holtz ribbon (or similar)
On the next page, 1 picture (7.5cmX10cm) and flag borders (the small banner). I used
this is one because it went very well with the color of my son t-shirt.
The embellishments are only a few buttons and a diecut mini card with the # 6.

The following pages are similar.
The left page is made with a large photo of my son (a first plan that speaks for itself!)
The final touch ..... With a piece of flag borders stickers (the banner) and I also put 3
small circles of the Sassafras flowers stickers that I distressed the edges.
Between these two pages, there is a tiny page.

On one side, I wrote a short story of my sons. On the other side, because I liked the
design of paper, I only used 2 flowers. The two flowers are from Sassafras.
The right page is decorated with a tag, a bit of glimmer mist and two small pictures
(wallet size).

For the last page of our album, we will use 1 large picture (11cmX14.5cm) and 2
flowers of Sassafras (not to lose the harmony). You can also add a title.

Use the flag borders (mini banner)
A tag and a wallet size photo (7.5cmX10cm) that summarizes the album in a single
glance.
Choose a title that will define the history of the album.
Finish decorating the cover as you like. I used some embellishments in the same color
range, masking tape and tape Tim Holtz.
And voila!!!!!!
