year.Our updated list of upcoming exploration wells in Norway should give
cause for some optimism. We have surveyed all 23 exploration wells
commencingin2017.BothStatoilandLundinhaveseveralexplorationwells
as it is linked to expectations. The most exciting is they both involved in;

Centrica has awarded contracts for drilling, production systems and subsea
equipment related to the development of Oda field in the North Sea. The
contractshaveatotalvalueofmorethanNOKtwobillion.Thecontractswere
awardedafterarigorousselectionprocessinOdalicense.

NorwayhasthisyearpolitelydeclinedinvitationsfromOPECtojointalkson
curbingoilproduction.Itsstrategyisnowpayingoff.
Western Europe’s biggest crude producer, which isn’t a member of the
OrganizationofPetroleumExportingCountriesandwillnotfeaturealongside
Russia among non-members contributing to output cuts under last week’s
deal, will nonetheless reap the benefits of higher prices on revenue and
activity.
Investments in Norway’s offshore industry, set to drop for a third straight
yearin2017,willgetahelpinghandfromtheOPECdealalreadynextyear,
TordLien,thecountry’sPetroleumandEnergyMinistersaid.It’stooearlyto
saybyhowmuch,hesaid.
“What OPEC has done is good,” Lien said in an interview at a conference
organizedbystateoilcompanyStatoilASAinOsloTuesday.“It’sgoodinthe
short term for producers, good for investments in the oil industry and the

Investments in Norway’s oil industry are expected to drop to 147 billion
kroner($18billion)nextyear,down34percentfromthe2014peak,making
ittheworstdownturneverforthecountry’soffshoreindustry.Thespending
reductionthathasfollowedthecollapseofoilpricestwoyearsagohaveled
tomorethan40,000jobscutsinthecountry,accordingtoDNBASA.
Norway has declined to participate in OPEC talks and rebuffed any idea of
outputcurbsbecausecrudeproductionhasfallenbyabouthalfsincea2000
peak. Still, Norway’s output is on track to increase for a third consecutive
year thanks in part to efficiency gains, according to figures from the
NorwegianPetroleumDirectorate.
OPEC’sdealwillaccelerateare-balancingoftheglobaloilmarket,bothLien
andStatoil’sChiefExecutiveOfficerEldarSaetresaidatthecompany’sannual
Autumn Conference in Oslo. Brent crude has advanced almost 16 percent
sincethedaybeforetheagreementwasstruckNov.30,andtradedat$53.72
abarrelonWednesday.
Butit’snotcertainthedealwillhaveasimmediateaneffectoninvestments
in Norway as Lien expects. The most capital-intensive projects that will
accountformostofthespendingnextyearhavealreadybeenapproved,Erik
Bruce,chiefanalystatNordeaABinNorway,saidbyphone.
“There could be marginally more exploration activity, maybe a bit more
maintenance,” he said. “I doubt that we will see any significant effect next
year.I’mnotplanningtochangemyestimates.”

AibelwinsFEEDworkforSnorreA •

Oilfield services provider Aibel has been awarded the FEED study for
modificationsonSnorreAinconnectionwithSnorreexpansion.Thecontract
alsohasanoptionfortheactualimplementationphase.
TheSnorrefield,locatedintheNorwegiansectionoftheNorthSea,istobe
developed further with a subsea solution to increase recovery. The
productionistobehookeduptoSnorreA,whichisanintegratedproduction,
drillingandquarters(PDQ)unit.
StatoilonFridayawardedAibelthecontracttoconductaFEEDstudytoplan
thehookupandtherequiredmodificationstotheplatformdeck.Thestudy
willlastforroughlyayearandinvolvearound100associates.
Thecontractalsoincludesoptionsfortheactualimplementationphaseofthe
project – engineering, procurement, construction, installation and
commissioning (EPCIC) – as well as for further study work and the
implementation of this. If all options are exercised, the project will have a
durationofatotaloffiveyearsandinvolveupto270associates,Aibelsaid.

“This is an important project to Aibel that provides welcomed work to our
officeinStavanger.Weconsideritagreatvoteofconfidencetobegivensuch
amajorroleinthedevelopmentoftheSnorrefield,”saysthenewPresident
and CEO of Aibel, Mads Andersen. Andersen will assume the position of
PresidentandCEOofthecompanyfollowingJanSkogsethfromJanuary2017.
According to the company, the work starts immediately and will be headed
byAibel’sheadquartersinStavanger.Aneventualimplementationphasewill
also provide work for the company’s yard in Haugesund, including
constructionofa600tonriserhang-offmodule.
AibelwasalsorecentlyawardedtheFEEDstudyintotheinstallationofanew
gas module on the Troll C platform by the Norwegian oil company
Statoil.Thisassignmentincludesthedesignandbuildofanewgasmoduleon
theTrollCplatform,locatedintheNorthSea.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Lundin a drilling
permitforanappraisalwellintheBarentsSea,offshoreNorway.
TheNPDsaidonFridaythatthewellbore7120/1-5willbedrilledfromthe
OceanRig-ownedLeivEirikssonsemi-submersibledrillingrig.
The drilling program for wellbore 7120/1-5 relates to the drilling of an
appraisalwellinproductionlicense492.
LundinNorwayistheoperatorwithanownershipinterestof40percent.The
other licensee is Aker BP ASA with 60 per cent. The area in this license
consistsoftheblocks7120/1and7120/2.
The well will be drilled about four kilometers north of the 7120/1-3
discoverywellinproductionlicence492.
Productionlicence492wasawardedonFebruary29,2008inAPA2007.
The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and
consentsrequiredbyotherauthoritiesbeforestartingthedrillingactivities.

Fitjar Mek. Verksted AS (FMB) and Aqua Seawork has
signeddesigningand newbuildingcontractforaworkand
serviceboatoftypeHFMVW15Sørfonn.
The vessel is a catamaran type fish farm support vessel
withmaindimensions15x12x3.9metersandthisproject
isgettingtheyardno.FMV232.Thenewbuildingwillbedesignedandbuilt
completeatFitjarandwillbehandedoverinApril2017.
FMV232 becomes the fourteenth workboat FMV builds of “HFMV Sørfonn
design”.Asofnow,therearethreesuchdesigns/vesselsunderconstruction.
The design has proved flexible and well suited for different tasks directed
towardstheaquacultureindustry.
Aqua Seawork AS is a new acquaintance to FMV. The company is based in
Herfjord,ÅfjordmunicipalityofFosenpeninsulaandwasestablishedin2013.
Owners are Arne Magnar Guttelvik and Wenche Strait through Guttelvik
Industrial Park. The company ownf now four boats and intends to expand
fleetwithFMV232andaworkboatunderconstructioninLatvia.
ItisagreatrecognitionofdesignandshipbuildingenvironmentinFitjarthat
AquaSeaworkchooseHFMVSørfonndesignasitsnextfleet,saysyarddirector
HugoStrand.
HFMV is a designation of the

Lookingatwaystoweatherthestormcausedbythelow
oilprice,theNorwegianoffshorevesselsupplierFarstad
Shipping has turned to a new market amiddepressed
offshorevesselchartering.
The company, working on its debt restructuring for
months now, said on Friday that Ocean Farming, a
subsidiary of the SalMar Group, has awarded Farstad
Offshore,awhollyownedsubsidiaryofFarstadShipping,acontractforthe
complete mooring installation and hook-up of Ocean Farming’s semisubmersibleoffshorefishfarm.
To remind, trying to find a solution for its debt problems, Farstad on
November 24 signed a binding term sheet signed with Siem Oil Service
InvestLimitedwhichwouldprovidethecompanywithNOK1billioninnew
equity.Earlierthisweek,thecompanypostedathirdquarterlossaftertax
ofNOK350.3million,comparedtoalossofNOK435.3million,ayearago.
Back to the current topic, Farstad said the scope involves project
management as well as execution of the offshore operations. The project
will utilize AHTS vessels from the Farstad Shipping fleet trading the spot
marketintheNorthSea.
Operations are scheduled to take place during first half of 2017. Farstad
said that the commercial terms of the agreement will be kept private and
confidentialbetweentheparties.

related to offshore mooring and hook-up operations, and this has been key
factors enabling us to secure this contract. We highly appreciate Ocean

Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik has
delivered the 116-meter super yacht
Ulyssestotheowner,GraemeHartfromNewZealand. Thevesselsailedfrom
KlevenVerftthisweekendinDecemberandisheadingforGermanyandfor
thefinaloutfittingthere.
WeappreciatethesoundcooperationwehavehadwithHartandhisteamand
theconfidenceshowninusbyallowingthemashorttimehasbuiltnotonlyone
fontbuttwoamazingvesselsatKleven,inashipbuildingsegmentwhichhave
beennewforus,saysStåleRasmussen,CEOofKleven.
The vessel (superyacht) of the MT 5006 MKII ESV (Exploration Support
Vessel) from Marine Technology, and is especially developed for long
expeditions in harsh waters. Her sister ship, another 107 meter long super
yacht-alsosurnamedUlysses,wasdeliveredtothissameownerfromNew
ZealandinAugust2015.
Thedeliveryofthefirstvessel,superyacht,toGraemeHartin2015marked
the start of shift in deliveries from Kleven. In over ten years the shipyard
group, with few exceptions, delivered offshore vesselsmainly to Norwegian
owner. Kleven has now a differentiated order book, with vessels of several

different segments: Hurtigruten ships (small explorer type hybrid cruise
vessels), fishing vessels, anchor handling vessels, cable laying vessels, well

Havyard Design & Solutions will deliver design and equipment of two new
sister ships. For over two years ago signed Havyard Design & Solutions
contract with the Brazilian shipping and shipbuilding group Grupo CBO on
deliveryofshipdesignandequipmentforfouranchorhandlingvessels.
NowHavyardreportsthatthecompanyhasreceivednewcontractsfortwo
additionalsistershipstotheBrazilians.
The total contract value for the delivery of ship design and equipment is in
excessofNOK80million.

Havyard Ship Technology in Leirvik will build three new electric ferries for
Fjord 1. Multi Maritime from Førde stands for the design and the project
workswiththeseferrieswillstartimmediately.Thefirstferrytobedelivered
in mid-May 2018. The last two will be ready towards the end of 2018. The
hullconstructionisoutsourcedandthefirsthullwillbereadyforoutfittingin
Leirviktowardstheendof2017.Thiscontracthasavalueofjustunderhalfa
billionNOK.
It is very gratifying that Fjord1 chosen Havyard Ship Technology to this
mission.Thecontractshowsthatwearecompetitiveinverystrongcompetition
with both Norwegian and foreign shipyards. We hope and believe that this is
justthestartofalongandgoodrelationshipwithFjord1,saysSalesDirectorat
HavyardShipTechnology,LarsConradiAndersen.
For Havyard shipyard this contract iss important and shows that measures
taken to restructure the shipyard is now starting to bear fruits. In recent
years the shipyard has entered a number of new segments such as fish,
renewableenergyandnowtransportation.
For us, these contracts means a lot, because they ensure good employment in

The sale is expected to give an accounting gain of approximately NOK 46

Scana Propulsion had in 2015 a turnover of NOK 318 million and a loss
beforetaxofonemillion.
Meanwhile, Invus, based on the above, signed an agreement with the bank
syndicate that existing financing agreement be extended by 12 months to
June 2019. It granted grace period until 22 March 2018, then quarterly
installments.

build what we believe is world's first two ferries based on biodiesel hybrid

zero-emissiontechnologyoftopclass
whereonlywaterisemitted.Thus,we

funds to begin development of

NorsafehassignedanewcontractwiththeSwedishCoastGuard

OnWednesdayDecember21stNorsafesignedyetanothernewcontractwith
theSwedishCoastGuard(KBV)todeliverninenewMagnum750MKIIboats.
The boats are specially developed in close cooperation with KBV and are a
continuationofsevenboatsalreadydeliveredbetween2015and2016.
“It is hard to imagine a better Christmas present than this”, says Kjell
Sørensen, the leader of this area of business at Norsafe. “This shows that
Norsafeisrecognisedasahighqualityproviderofspecialisedboats.Thenew
boatswillbedeliveredoverthecourseofthenewyear.”
FormanyyearsNorsafehashadaparticularlygoodandfruitfulcooperation
with KBV. Through this collaboration, Norsafe has developed a fast rescue
boatthatalsomeetstheKBV’soperationalrequirements.
The order is important for Norsafe and confirms the commitment the
company has made in recent years in the business area of military and
professionalboats.

The fishing vessel owning company Seir AS has announced a ship bulding
contract. The new longliner vessel with design ST-155 will be built at
VaagblandBåtbyggeriASinHalsa,Nordmøre.Thedeliverywillbeinsummer
2018.
Duringtheentiredevelopmentperiod,theemphasishasbeenondeveloping
ahullshapewithexcellentseaworthinessandthedevelopmentofthoughtful
solutions on board for a good and safe working environment where heavy
liftingisavoidedandhighcomfortduringworkandoffdutyaccomplished,it
says.
The design project has been focusing on reducing CO2 emissions and
economy. This has been achieved using an integrated automation control
systemthatkeepstheshipon"energy-saving"modusunderallconditionsas
wellaswhenplanningthereuseofenergy/wasteheat.
Thenewfishingvessels´maindimensionsare:53.1meterslongandawidth
of 12.8 meters. It will have an auto line capacity of 65,000 hooks. Beyond
constructioninMoreogRomsdal,thereisalonglistofNorwegiansuppliers.
