Early Release (@2:15)
Students will visit the Book Fair again starting the
week of Feb. 8th to make their purchases. In addition to the scheduled class visits, the fair will
also be open before school that week and during
Curriculum Night, which is the evening of the
9th. There will also be opportunities at the fair to
make contributions to individual teachers for purchases for their classrooms if you wish to do
so. In order to make the Book Fair a success, we
are in need of volunteers. Please consider signing up to help the children
make their selections and purchases. Use the following link (http://
www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0944a5a72aa75-book) to volunteer or contact
Elizabeth Purdie ([email protected]) with any questions. More information will be sent home in the near future with your child.
Book Fair/Curriculum Night Dinner
We will be organizing a group order from Jason's Deli for dinner on Curriculum Night. You can order and pay online in advance by visiting the following

Thank you to the dads who have come out on Friday

way to get involved, meet other dads, and support our
school by giving your time. Please join them at the main
entrance each Friday from 8:45-9:10am.
Please email Mr. Stephany with questions about the process at [email protected].
Congrats to Mrs. Pendelton’s class

Dear Parents,
Thank you for your continued support of the programs, staff, and students at Lansdowne IB World Elementary School. We are always so appreciative of our parents and our PTO for all that they do for our students
and school.
On Tuesday, February 9th, at 6:00 PM, we will have Curriculum and Book Fair Night. Families will have an opportunity to attend a session with their child’s teacher to learn about curriculum, events, and expectations for second semester. Two sessions will be held with the information being repeated. The first session will run from 6:00-6:30
PM. The second session will run from 6:35-7:05 PM. Parents only need to attend one session. The Book Fair will be
open until 8:00 PM. We hope to see many Lansdowne families for this event.
Mrs. Guice, our school counselor, has planned a Parenting Education Series through the months of February and
March. The workshops will held on Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM. Please note the following dates for the workshops: February 2nd, February 16th, February 23rd, March 8th, and March 15th. Topics will be shared on ConnectEd messages
before the dates.
Listed below are a few notes and reminders:
* Monday, February 15th will be a makeup school day for students.
* Congratulations to Georgia Booth, who has been chosen as the 2015-2016 Lansdowne IB World Elementary School
Teacher of the Year!
* When your child is absent, please send a note with your child when they return. Notes can also be given to Mrs. Clark
in the front office.
* Please remember students should not be dropped off before 8:45 AM.
* Second quarter awards for grades 3-5 will be held on Monday, February 8th. The times are as follows: 3rd grade-1:30
PM, 4th grade-3:15 PM, 5th grade-2:30 PM. All students may not receive an award. Parents will be notified by the classroom teacher if a student is receiving an award. Awards are given for Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Lucky Lion Award,
and Most Improved. Any questions should be directed to the classroom teacher.
* If you are not receiving ConnectEd messages from the school, please contact the front office to ensure your phone
number is correct in our system.
Again, thank you for your continued support. We are having a great year at Lansdowne IB World Elementary School.
Sincerely,
Penni Beth Crisp, Principal
