NOTE from PTA President, Jessica Mitchell:
It’s hard to believe that the school year is almost over! We have several events going on during these last few weeks of
school and we don’t want anyone to miss out! Grab your calendars and mark these very important dates.
Monday, May 1st at 6:00 pm – PTA will host special guest Candy Gibbs. This is an adult only event at the school. You will
not want to miss this night of incredible information about your child and technology. Candy gives insight to what is
going on in the cyber world around us. She will give you useful tools and knowledge to help navigate this vast and
complex web of social media. A great way to prepare for the upcoming summer break.
Tuesday, May 2nd – Volunteer interest forms will be sent home. Also, be on the look out for PTA executive committee
ballots. Make sure you vote to pass or fail the recommended slate for next year!
Wednesday, May 3rd 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm – PTA appreciation party at Taste Dessert Bar. Please join us for an
afternoon of celebration! All PTA executive committee, board members, committee chairs, members, and volunteers
please join us as we “toast to a successful year”
May 10th, 11th, and 12th – PTA is bringing back the Mother’s Day Shop! This is an opportunity for students to shop for
Mothers, Grandmothers, and special friends before Mother’s Day!
May 12th 6:30pm until 9:30pm – Wonderland Night! Tickets will go on sale May 3rd.

THE PTA PRESENTS A SPECIAL CYBER AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR PARENTS
ONLY. The presentation will be on Monday, May 1st, in the School’s Assembly
Hall. Candy Gibbs is the executive director of the CareNet Pregnancy Centers. She is the author of Rescue: Raising
Teens in a Drowning Culture as well as Chosen and Pearls, curriculum for pre-teen and teenage girls, and encourages
hundreds of parents through her blog, CandyGibbs.com. She and her husband Brian make their home in Bushland,
Texas with their teenage son and daughter. Their adult son is a US Airman currently serving in Montana with their
daughter-in-law and three precious grandchildren.
Candy’s book, Rescue: Raising Teens in a Drowning Culture offers wisdom, encouragement, and practical applications
to give struggling parents the life preservers they need to rescue teens from a drowning culture.
