Industria Chimica Panzeri was established in the first '30 in Bergamo. Today, the factory
is located in Orio al Serio on an area of 32.000 mq of which 25.000 covered.
The Company’s activities are organised in separate divisions that have responsibility for the

Additives for Polymerisation
The Cosmetic raw materials division is particularly focused on the development of personal
care products. The Research and Technical Services Centre is staffed by highly researchers
and application technicians whose research projects are firmly oriented towers the study of
raw materials in the form of biodegradable auxiliary chemicals that are increasingly of natural
origin and obtained from a renewable, environmentally compatibility sources. The strength,
organisation and management of this research and technology structure ensure that
Industria Chimica Panzeri can respond rapidly to the daily needs of its clients, offering
innovative solutions and products in line with fast evolving technologies.
In the last decade the experience, competence and effort the management, together with the
R & D department , enabled the society to develop continuously and to earn an important
space in the market of chemicals.
The company’s driving force is its customer service, expressed trough quality products,
prompt delivers and a professional and technical team. Through the net of its agents and the
direct effort of the Sales Office and the Customer's Service Office, Industria Chimica
Panzeri is present all over the national territory and has recently established partnerships
with important European and Asian companies.
In order to satisfy both the quality standards required by the market and the logistic and
organizational exigencies of each interlocutor, a wide range of products is present in each
applicative branch of Industria Chimica Panzeri's catalogues. Some of these products, thanks

Esters derived from the polyoxyethylation process of natural fatty acids belong to this group.
The different lengths of the ethylene oxide chains determines the HLB which ranges from 2.1 to
18.5. The oleate derivatives are soluble in many of the oils used in cosmetics, while the
stearates are used to form the emulsifier system for creams, milks and lotions.

SOLUBILIZING AGENTS
These products are normally used to solubilise
essential oils, active ingredients and lipo-soluble
substances in general. In this application they are
particularly appreciated because they reduce, or make
unnecessary, the use of the polar bodies or cosolvents that are normally added in order to facilitate
solubilisation.
They also have the advantage of good physiological
compatibility, a barely perceivable smell and no
interaction with preservatives. They may also be used
as auxiliary detergents in toiletries, as co-emulsifiers
and as components of ointments and transparent
gels.

Those products allow the elimination, or at least the reduced use of polar bodies (glycols,
polyglycols, and glycol esters) and other co-solvents added to improve and ease solubilisation.
These products also offer the following advantages:
• high quality standard;
• good physiological compatibility;
• almost imperceptible smell;
• almost tasteless in water solutions;
• no deactivation of preservatives.
The solutions obtained can be sterilised at 120°C. In the case of separation, it is sufficient to stir
the hot solution to reverse the process. An important factor in terms of stability is the absence
of strong acids or basic substances that can provoke the saponification of the solubilisation
product.
SORBITAN ESTERS AND POLYSORBATES
The LAUROPAN series S are W/O surfactants. They have an ointment-type emulsifiers and
they can be used in combination with LAUROPAN series T ethoxy derivatives in order to
crate valid O/W or W/O type emulsifying systems. They are also used to solubilise vitamins,
active ingredients in general, flavourings and perfumes, and as auxiliary surfactants in
particularly delicate detergents.

Advantages:
Compatibility with all kind of surfactants: anionic, cationic or amphoteric and with delicate
substances and active ingredients.
Efficacy. The attitude to form low concentration critical micelle allow an easy realization of
stable and fine emulsions, also in presence of electrolyte with strong ionic dissociation and in a
wide range of acid and alkaline pH.
Versatility. The difference between the chemical structures gives the possibility to choose
several combination of sorbitan ester and polysorbates in order to get the required HLB, and
getting the emollient, detergent, wetting, dispersing, solubilising or emulsifying effect.
Safety. The results coming from different toxicology tests, supported by years knowledge in
the pharmaceutical and cosmetic application permit to classify these surfactants among the
most safe products with extremely good skin compatibility
Ecology. These products basically match all the International legislation on biodegradability of
non-ionic surfactants. No risk for the environment.
Quality. The good technological production plant level, is able to produce a very good quality
products with an extremely purity and reproducibility.
LIPIDIC COMPONENTS
In recent time there has been a preference for using functional ingredients of vegetal source.
Industria Chimica Panzeri has been moving in this direction since the beginning,
producing functional substances which together with the other ingredients of the formulation,

SPECIAL EMULSIFYING SYSTEMS
A large number of cosmetic products are made as emulsions which have the advantage of
giving the most suitable form and consistency for the application to the surface to be treated.
In addition, an emulsion formulation allows the simultaneous use of both oil and water soluble
ingredients in the qualities desired. In cosmetic emulsions, the fatty phase is generally
constituted by ingredients that are very diverse in terms of both their chemical and physical
properties, and polarity

important cosmetics created in order to
prevent the skin ageing, to protect, to
moisture and to make the skin smooth
and silky.

TRICHOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS
Hydrogen peroxide is used as hair bleaching and oxidizing agent in dye and perm products.
In order to improve the performances, in the formulations of these products are used
rheological ingredients that make easier the dilution with the ‘developer’, favour the adhesion
to the hair and avoid the contact of the hair dye or the perm with the nape and the face.
The oxidizing product must have a ‘body’ and a viscosity that allow the adhesion to the
substratum, optimizing the performances and minimizing the product loss caused by an
excessive sliding effect.
For particular and specialist uses as oxidizing emulsions, hair dyeing products, hair masks,
permanent wave and ‘finishing’ products, Industria Chimica Panzeri realized exclusive raw
materials. The Research and Technical Services Centre is at customer disposal to study ‘tailor
made’ products created on the basis of problems and specific requirements.
