EPICENTER
The EPICENTER contra dance weekend begins Friday, April 5 with registration at 7:00 p.m. and with dancing starting at
7:30 p.m. The dance weekend ends at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. The Sunday evening public dance with George
Marshall and the Blue Ribbon Dance Band is included as part of your weekend registration. A tentative schedule for the
weekend is available at www.nbcds.org/epicenter/.
LOCATION: EPICENTER is being held at the Strawberry Recreation District Reception Hall in Mill Valley, Marin County,
located just minutes off Highway 101 close to San Francisco, the North and East Bay Area. The Reception Hall has a large,
beautiful wooden dance floor, redwood paneling, high ceiling, wall-to-wall windows, outdoor deck and patios. Check out their
website at http://strawberry.marin.org. Nearby attractions include the Tiburon Penisula, San Francisco, Point Reyes
National Seashore, and Mt. Tamalpais State Park.
ACCOMMODATIONS and CARPOOLS: A list of area hotels and motels can be found at www.nbcds.org/epicenter/. We
will provide an event Facebook page for dancers wishing to arrange shared housing and/or carpools. We appreciate local
dancers offering hospitality to out-of-town dancers.
MEALS: A variety of refreshments will be provided during the weekend. Meals will be on your own. A list of nearby places to
eat will be available at the Hall.
REGISTRATION & CANCELLATIONS: Registration begins 11/12/12. Registration fee is $135.00;
under age 30 sliding-scale $80 - $135. Registration is not transferable. All cancellations are subject to a $15 processing fee.
After March 21, 2013 the full fee will be retained unless we are able to fill your place from the waiting list, if any. Refunds
will be processed as soon as possible, but may not be paid until two weeks after the event.
The Sunday night dance is included, and is also open to non-EPICENTER participants for $12 at the door.
