AN ENCORE LEARNING SPECIAL EVENT Conversations Henry Oswana Tanner “The Thankful Poor” 1894 African and African-American Artworks in Dialogue Friday, August 21, 2015, from 1 to 2 p.m. The National Museum of African Art Registration is required and is limited to 20 Encore Learning members. The tour is free. Join Encore Learning on a tour of the African Art Museum's 20th Anniversary Exhibit, Conversations: African and African-American Artworks in Dialogue. This extensive collection of rarely-seen works, including works by Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence and Faith Ringgold, underscores the shared history that links Africa and the African Diaspora and seeks the common threads that have weaved their stories together over time. A waiting list will be maintained and all registrants will be contacted by the coordinator approximately one week prior to the event regarding the status of their registration.
