Most children are able to sort but find it challenging when asked to declare their
sorting rule. We have spent a lot of time developing the vocabulary same and
different. You can continue this at home. When sorting laundry have your child help,
have them verbalize how they sorted the clothes (size, colour, type of clothing). Also
when you are in a parking lot talk with your child about what makes the vehicles’ the
same (car, truck, colour) and different (colour, car, truck). Challenge them to find
different ways to sort objects at home, making sure you have them declare a sorting
rule.
Handwriting Without Tears
The Uppercase Letters that we have focused on are: F, E, D, P, B, and R. We have
discussed the letter sound, words that begin with these letters and looked for the
lowercase letter as well. Please remember that letters are always started at the
top.
Parent Volunteers
Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered in our classrooms this
month for our magic show, preparing classroom materials, helping decorate
bulletin boards and working with children. Your time is greatly appreciated.
Warm Weather
In just a few weeks we can put the cold weather behind us! This usually
means that the field is muddy and full of puddles! Please remember to send
your child with appropriate clothing considering all conditions. Please send in
3 extra pairs of socks which we will put in their extra clothes bag.

a child if someone does not come. PLEASE PLAN TO SPEND THE

Father’s Day Extravaganza will take place on June 8th .
We hope you all have a marvelous month!
