Message from the Principal
The end of the year is coming to a close and our students will be participating in various activities such as field trips, class picnics, and field day
events. We ask that families keep the following guidelines in mind: In general,
students are expected to stay in school until regular dismissal time. Please do
not sign children out early after these events. In addition, unless specifically
allowed, younger siblings or multiple family members are not to attend.
(Ceremonies held in the Multi-purpose room are usually an exception) Please
carefully read the notes sent home from your child’s teacher for specific instructions.
For outdoor events, students are encouraged to wear sunscreen and
bring a water bottle.
Our school budget passed this year and I want to thank you for your
continued support. Programs such as Sharpe Reservation and Calico Ball provide our students with opportunities to learn outside of the classroom setting. In
addition, these events provide lasting memories for our children.
To our fifth grade students transitioning to Rombout Middle School: I
have enjoyed the opportunity to see you grow into wonderful young adults.
You will soon go on and establish new friendships and routines as you enter
the Middle School. There will be new challenges that you will encounter, such
as meeting new people, changing classes, and setting new goals for yourselves. Your parents, teachers and I all believe that you will grow, succeed
and achieve much next year.
Report Cards and Summer Work Packets
On your child’s last day of school they will be bringing home their report
card, summer work packets and school supply list. Your child’s following
year’s teacher will not be indicated on the report card in June.
Parents will receive a letter in the mail at the end of June that will indicate which teacher your child will have for the 16-17 school year. Please note
that it is our continued practice that specific teacher requests will not be honored. All of our teachers are highly qualified educators. Requests to have your
child placed in the same class with their close friend will also not be honored.
The staff and I work on student placement with an extensive focus on placing
students with a teacher that would be a good match.
Sincerely, Mrs.
Condello
