Next Board Meeting
Wednesday, Dec 2, 2009 at 6:30pm
Keystone Pacific office:
I6845 Von Karman, Suite 200, Irvine
The Board of Directors meetings are held on the
first Wednesday of each month. We encourage
you to become more involved in your LanesEnd
community by joining us at the meetings and
expressing yourself during Homeowner Forum,
where you have the opportunity to share your
thoughts, express your ideas and voice your
concerns. Decisions are made at every Board
meeting which directly or indirectly affect your
specific property. Attending a Board meeting is
a way to ensure that your views are considered
prior to decisions being finalized.

Camphor Tree Replacement Complete
We are happy to report that our community-wide Camphor tree
replacement project is now complete. The Camphors were
originally planted by the builder along the sides of the streets
throughout the neighborhood. Unfortunately, their large roots were
uplifting sidewalks and invading utility boxes throughout the
community which was resulting in considerable expense to the Association.
At the recommendation of our landscaper, the Board approved the removal of all
Camphor trees from the common area. In their place, the more “root-friendly”
Raphiolepis Majestic and Crape Myrtle trees were planted. A variety of different
colors of Crape Myrtle were planted, including red, lavender, pink, white and
purple. When they are all in bloom the neighborhood will be a beautiful palette of
vibrant color. We thank all homeowners for your patience during this year-long
tree replacement effort.
Free Gas Meter Painting Service Available
A walk through any of our neighborhood alleys will reveal
that most, if not all, of the gas meters are looking very
shabby. Have the pipes leading into and out of your
gas meter lost their original shiny gray finish? Did you
know the Gas Company will paint these meters for you
free of charge? We would like to call the Gas Company
and have them paint them all, but unfortunately, they
require each homeowner to contact them to schedule
an order to have their meter painted.
If your gas meter is looking all worn-out and tired, please call the Gas Company
at 1-800-427-2200 and ask that come on out and make your gas meter look all
nice and new with a fresh coat of paint. Thank you!
Board Meeting Highlights
At its November meeting, the Board of Directors took the following actions:
Approved the September 2009 Financial Statement which shows that the
LanesEnd HOA has $16,098.42 in Operating Account funds, $270,330.23 in
Reserve Account funds, as well as $1,600.84 in Other Assets for Total Assets
of $293,736.69.
Approved a proposal from LeBarre/Oksnee to insure the Association for 2010.
Pedestrian Gate Plan Submitted for Review
At its September meeting the Board approved a drawing for a
pedestrian access gate to Portola. The drawing has been
submitted to the City of Irvine and we are still awaiting their
response. The proposed gate will be located near the corner of
Trellis and Winslow and will consist of a wrought iron frame with wood interior
panels to provide additional privacy along with a key lock to restrict access.
How Are Your Driveway Mow Strips Looking?
Many of our neighborhood driveway mow strips are looking
a bit more like driveway dirt strips. While they do require
additional maintenance from the homeowners, the grass strips
that appear at the center of many of our neighborhood
driveways are one of the unique architectural features of the
community. If your driveway mow strips are looking worn-out, please have
them replanted. Thank You!
