The Hochkönig Region is a holiday paradise, promising

skiing and boarding with us in glorious SalzburgerLand.
Aside from our own sports shop, a ski school and
equipment rental center right outside our front door
provide all the support you need for fabulous fun on
the slopes. And after an extended workout on the piste,
you will find pure relaxation in our mystical Hochkönig
Sauna, punctuated by marvelously invigorating affusions
added by Reini, our sauna meister.
For our smaller guests, there are countless things to
discover and experience in and around the Übergossene Alm Resort – no wonder, then, that those snug
beds in our lovingly furnished rooms become irresistibly enticing once evening sets in.

LEGEND
OF THE ÜBERGOSSENE ALM:
HOME TO DAIRYMAIDS
& FARMHANDS.
The Hochkönig was not always as grim, inaccessible
and snow-covered as you see it today. The sun shone
warmer, the wind blew gentler and, instead of a glacier
field, there shimmered a green alpine pasture. The
jingle of cowbells could be heard far below in the Dienten Valley itself.
But other sounds came from those mountain heights:
Frolicsome, buxom dairy maids led a boisterous life.
They laughed, sang and made merry by day and by
night. They had the finest delicacies and wines brought
to them from Salzburg by the farm hands. And heavens,
did they know how to cook! But their life of abundance
led them to become frivolous and impudent. They even
plastered the pathway with cheese, bathed in milk and
splattered each other with butter. They hung silver
bells around the cows’ necks and gilded the horns of
their bulls. The people of the village spread the rumor
that “the evil one” lived amongst them.
One evening an old man appeared at their mountain
hut, clad in brown pilgrims’ garb, a hiking stick in his
hand, his hat pulled down low over his face, and he
politely asked for shelter. But the dairy maids laughed
in his face and sent him on his way. The very next day,
the clouds gathered black and powerful around the
mountain. And even the eldest amongst them could not
remember having ever seen anything like it. Lightning
flashed about the summit and the entire Pinzgau region
shook beneath the booming claps of thunder. A mighty
flood poured across the high pastures and immediately turned to ice. The devils, however, threw themselves,
their voices screeching, through holes in the rock wall.
And if you should doubt this tale, you need only look up
to the Hochkönig, where these “Devil Holes” remain
visible to this day. Today’s “ÜBERGOSSENE ALM” has
removed itself from the top to the foot of the Hochkönig.
The delicacies and wines from Salzburg are still there,
as are those high-spirited country girls. Though they
have since become quite well-mannered and well-behaved! And if you should happen to come here in search
of lodging, you are sure not to be sent on your way!

and amiable setting, preparing you to ski and carve no

Since lessons incorporate cutting-edge short-ski teaching methods, we recommend beginners rent their

CHILDREN’S SKI SCHOOL
When it comes to your kids, you can choose between
half- and full-day courses (2-hour courses for intermediate skiers only), while full-day childcare with lunch
is also available.
Lunchtime Childcare: We would be glad to look after
your children during the lunch break! Price per child

In cooperation with our sports shop Sport KLAUS, you
now have an easy and convenient way to test the very
latest ski equipment. Our specialists will be glad to
assist with expert advice. In no time at all, we’ll have
you in ski equipment personally tailored and adjusted
to you, so you are ready to hit the slopes in total safety. Ski service, convenient & hassle-free right here at
the hotel. Participants in ski courses receive a 10%
discount on ski rentals.
Who enjoys lugging skis and poles everywhere? Our
motto, on the other hand, is quite simple - “Clamp on
and head out!” The lift is directly across from our hotel,
carrying you up the mountain and straight into Austria’s
biggest ski area, the Ski Amadé, with 760 kilometers of
slopes and 270 ski lifts – all on a single pass. If that’s a
little overwhelming to start out, you might want to find
your “ski legs” on the practice hill, or on the 33 stateof-the-art lifts and 120 km of ski slopes on the Hochkönig.
Whether you want to learn the basics or refresh your
skiing skills, our new school is clearly the best choice.

prices are per person in Euro excl. € 1.50/day
in local taxes per adult and child age 16 and
