Reading: 1 Samuel 16: 1-13
God is about to give you a new name; your name will change from a borrower to
a lender, decrease to increase, defeat to victory, emptiness to abundance, dry to
wet for the showers of blessings are coming to you. God is in the business of
getting you from brokenness to wholeness, ashes to beauty, mourning to joy,
spirit of despair to having dancing shoes.
God puts a demand on His favor because it is not something you deserve
God is very specific in His assignments
David was anointed without a Kingdom which it’s not the norm when there is a
King occupying the seat. There is a King in the making inside you; you are a king
undercover and God will not reveal it lest you be “murdered”
David was a shepherd and God chose him because he was concerned for each
and every sheep assigned to him and he would not let any harm to them. Favor
is high maintenance and it comes with responsibilities and expectations
Any time you walk in favor, ask yourself what is in God's mind. Favor comes with
a reason and if you do not discern it, you may mess up the favor
Everything that God does is not just by coincidence, there is a reason. What is
your purpose in the Kingdom of God?
God is a specific God and does everything for a reason
It is not how you start but how you finish
Our walk is a marathon and we should let grace sustain us until we reach the
finish line. Every time you are God chosen, you leave the hands of men and you
have to go through God's process of pruning where there is cutting and
breaking. When God picks you, he starts to cut you from some people and
things.
Being chosen by God means favored of God. Once you are chosen do not make
a mistake of thinking you are the first choice; you are never the first choice
Saul was rejected because he had:
1. Rebellious or stubborn spirit.
2. Disobedience
3. Pride
4. Lying Spirit
5. Pretence
6. Violating the Lords command.
7. Ignorance
8. He was a men pleaser
9. Opportunist
10. Greedy and selfish.
11. False reasoning
David was not the most qualified man for his history was wanting. He did not
look like a king for he was not born in a palace. He became a weapon of war that
would break nations into pieces and destroy kingdoms
1 Kings 19
Kings are anointed for the kingdom purposes while a priest is anointed for the
work of the sanctuary especially the altar. The plan of God is that Kings and
priests work together for when God chooses a king, the priest goes to anoint
them
A priest is raised for the alter to speak on behalf of God and for God
Even if God raises you from poverty to riches, do not change your attitude
towards God. Stay humble even after God raises you
Favor will cause you to sit in a place of honor
There are three giants that you need to resist in life; Money, women and pride.
You should die from pride for it was the only sin that caused Satan to lose his
place in heaven
Sometimes God does not give you "A-Z", but will give you "A" and once you walk
in obedience, He will make things to unfold for you
Genesis 48:12
In the year of the Lords favor, the hands have been swapped and you are going
to overtake the ones who had gone ahead of you. The normal way of doing
things is about to change when the hand supposed to go to the first born is
redirected to the second born.
Do not give up today when God has already called Samuel for a second
anointing
God does not look at the outside appearance or the stature of man but at your
heart. God is about to remember you. God is about to open a door that eyes
have not seen nor ears heard
The Holy Spirit will not rest until the one that is chosen comes. God is in the
business of your wilderness and your word will not pass you by just like it did for
David
When pay day comes, God will give you double for your shame.
