For the TI-73 Explorer™
Two Dimensional Shapes – Part 2
This App contains two familiar tools, Logo Light and Isometric Dots. Draw two-dimensional shapes
using the programming commands in Logo Light. Draw representations of three-dimensional cubes
using Isometric Dots. Save your images as files or PICs! Make drawings to use in StudyCards!
1.
After loading Explorer Draw, press APPS
and select EXPDRAW. Either press the
number listed next to the App or highlight
the App listing and press Õ. Press any
key to move through the opening screens.

Now draw a regular octagon. First clear
your screen by selecting CS from <CMDS>
and press Õ. REPEAT 8(FD 15 RT 45)
Hint: Alter the directions for the hexagon
above.

Select LOGO LIGHT.
Hint: On any screen where you see <HELP>,
press r to read the help screens.
Hint: Press <EXIT> o or y 5
repeatedly to leave the App.

Next, draw a decagon. Don’t forget to
use CS to clear your screen.
What shape are you starting to see?
REPEAT 10(FD 10 RT 36)

Press Õ to start a new Logo Light file.
Hint: You will be able to save files of your
drawings to open later!
4.
You are ready to use Logo Light
commands <CMDS> to draw!
Hint: Press <HELP> r on this screen to
see some information on the Logo Light
commands!
5.
Press <CMDS> s to see the command
menu. Use the up and down arrows to
select a command and press Õ.

Start with a regular hexagon.

Try each of the following repeat
commands. Remember to use CS to clear
your screen if you need. Write a description
of the shapes you see. As the number of
sides of the polygon increase, does the
polygon look like another familiar shape?
Repeat 30 (FD 2 RT 12)
Repeat 36 (FD 2 RT 10)
Repeat 45 (FD 2 RT 8)
Repeat 60 (FD 2 RT 6)
Repeat 90 (FD 2 RT 4)
Repeat 120 (FD 2 RT 3)

Next, use CS to clear your screen. Try the
CIRCLER or CIRCLEL commands. What do
you notice? Try different radius values too.

Helpful Hints:
• Press q to flip to the Command
Viewer side to see your list of commands!
• q takes you back to the drawing
screen so you can try more commands.
• Press <FILE> on the Command Viewer
side. Save your file, save your image as
a PIC or Exit Logo Light.
• Press [CLEAR] to exit any open menu.
• Maximum number of commands is 60.
• CS is the command to clear the drawing.
• Pressing y 5 several times will
exit the App.
