Today I am talking about one of was ‘Stronger Together’. The
the hottest topics in the news, American people appear to have
the US presidential election.

This is such a contentious issue
that we have two articles one
which states the fact and for the
first time in the Scribbler we
have an editorial opinion piece.
So lets get started with Donald
Trump. He has been elected the
president with no political experience. He is a hotel and casino
owner and is one of the richest
men on the planet. He had also
stared in a few movies but not as
a main character in any of the
ones he has played in. He also
owns Trump Towers in New
York. During the polls (which
should have predicted who
would become president) he had
not really been doing as well as
Hilary Clinton.
Now I am going to give some
facts on Hilary Clinton. First of all
her husband Bill Clinton was a US
president before and Hilary also
had political experience as she
has been working in politics for
around 30 - 40 years however
she may have been damaged by t
the FBI email scandal where she
was investigated for using a private email account for classified
information.
America has a very different voting system to Britain and due to
the way that each state is given a
number of points Hilary Clinton
may have had more people vote
for her but Trump became president. Surprisingly it was predicted in the year 2000 that Donald

This is our opinion page.
Generally people were shocked
that Donald Trump would become president but to others it
was less of a surprise. The reason
for this is could be because of the
FBI email scandal, but Donald
still won mostly because of the
American voting system as the
American voting is through different states that choose their
candidate and each state is worth
a certain number of points and
the deicedes the winner.
Here are what the editors think
about Donald Trump: Matthew
(Trump supporter) “I think some
people are over-reacting because British people have a distorted view of American politics
and this can sometimes mean
they believe that Donald Trump
is crazy and he is making wrong
decisions and that Hilary is more
experienced ,and in certain ways
this is true but unlike in England
where an experienced politician
is considered better, in America,
whether you like it or not Donald Trump is a very experienced
and smart businessman and
sometimes that can win over the
people and make for a good president.”
I however think that Donald
Trump has made some promises
that may not be possible and although he has a great mind to
drive himself to complete those
goals they could change the way
that Americans live forever. My
biggest concern about Donald
Trump is that he believes that he
can do whatever he likes
as president
which could
be dangerous.

Wreck-It-Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph is a animated
movie which tells the secret life
of the characters of those arcade
games you love. It shows what
happens with the doors of the arcades are locked and everyone's
left. The movie tells the story of
Ralph a villain in “Felix-It Felix”
where his job is to destroy the
hotel place so Felix can fix it. But
unfortunately Ralph’s life isn’t
that great compared to the rest of
the characters and Felix. Determined to get a medal to prove he
can be a hero he leaves his game
and goes to “Heroes' Duty” a
shooting game where you shoot a
virus. But in doing so he ruins his
game’s story and the game is becomes OUT OF ORDER (DUN
DUNN DONNN) and Felix must
go on an adventure through different games to find him. Finally
Ralph gets a medal, but in a total-
ly unpredictable event, disaster
strikes he loses it. When I was
watching it I was thinking
“Seriously ”. He ventures to
“Sugar Rush” a Mario Cart-like
game where he meets Vanellope
Von Schweetz who was classified
as a “glitch” but SPOILER ALERT
she’s secretly the games main
character and princess and the
Candy King SPOILER ALERT HE’S
SECRETLY
TURBO
basically
“disconnects” if you know what I
mean. But I better not talk more
because I’ll end up spoiling it. Anyway the movie has a good story
line and characters.

Home Alone

bed but luckily the taxi was outside. Everyone leaves the house
but Kevin!!! Well the rest of the
family got on the flight thankfully.
So Kevin is home alone and first
things to do… eat a huge bowl of
ice cream. Anyway for a while
you see Kevin having fun but
then two gangsters come around.
So he goes to the supermarket
and then comes back but the
gangsters follow him. After a few
nights he gets a plan ready as he
hears the gangsters talking about
getting in and stealing everything
but he stops them, and they leave
with a burnt hand and the other
got a needle stuck in there foot.
Don’t worry there was no blood!
Home alone is a classic movie
that was made in 1990. The movie is about a rich family who had
had a pizza ordered. Dun dun
dun! Well its not that bad, but the
main child (Kevin) in the movie
is sent up to the attic to sleep the
night. But the family did not help
him pack earlier, so he went to
bed without packing. The one
scene before he went to the attic
was really moving (I didn’t fall of
my chair!) as he says to the
mother that he doesn’t like his
family and the mother replies by
saying “I wonder what it would
feel like if you woke up without a
family tomorrow.” well that wasn’t the exact words but that is Rating
how it was.
9.5/10
So the next morning the family
wake up with only 45 minutes till
their flight and they are still in

Pokémon GO

Pokemon go is a craze throughout the world everyone rushing
to get Pikachu and other Pokemon. Pokemon go is a game
where you can play on your
phone and your iPod.
You start off with fifty Poke balls
and you can go and catch any
Pokemon you like.
When you catch a Pokemon you
get their candy and you need
Pokemon candy to level up or
even evolve your Pokemon.
stars then you throw it at the
Pokemon and get more points.
When you get a really good Pokemon you can fight in a gym.
A gym is where you battle other
players with your Pokemon to
become the number one Pokemon trainer. I would suggest
fighting in a gym if your Pokemon is evolved or over 500cp. It’s
a very well thought game but
what do you do when you finish
the Pokedex? Just delete the
game and start all over again? It
is nearly impossible to complete
the Pokedex anyway.
Evolving is when you make the
Pokemon stronger. When you do
this you will see a bar over the
Pokemon’s head. This is called Thanks
CP, I think it stands for caught readPokemon but I am not sure it is ing!

Catching Pokemon is easy but
there’s a much harder way. What

Fruit Ninja

Fruit Ninja is a game where have
to slice fruit and collect golden
apples to face bosses like Truffles
the pig. It’s a game for the iPod,
iPad, iPhone and Android where
you can do brawl, dragon fest, arcade and lots more. You can level
up slightly by slicing fruit and at
the end of your one minute game
you get a percentage if you get
over 70% you get three golden
apples. You can use the points
you get to buy different blades
light cloud nicker. When you get a
high level you can get a better
blade like laser blade. When you
get lots of golden apples you can
play against a higher ranker like
Mia. I really want to play Kinase
if you pass Truffles you play others for example after Truffles you
play Nobu and after that Mari
then Han. If you level up so much
you can by a different back-
ground and in the game you have
awesome Japanese music and it
has a very nice ring to it (like Saturn ha ha). I really like how you
can buy different blades like
cloud kicker or laser blade. My
favourite blade that I’ve got is
samurai smasher. I want to get
dragon blade because it sounds
very cool! I will go on level 7
when I next play it and I will be
very happy. If you go on to a higher level you can get better blades
I think that in December a Christmas version will come out. That’s

Proboscis Monkey

Squidward took direct inspiration from the Proboscis Monkey.
As you can probably see this
monkey stands out because of his
nose and orange hair. This is one
of the funniest animals I will tell
you about as its humorous body
will haunt your mind forever. But
anyway, this monkey’s diet is
mostly leaves and fruit. Quite
ironically this animal is unable to
digest ripe fruit….there is a reason to this but it is a little hard to
explain so I will skip over that.
Now the question you have been
waiting for. What does his nose
do? Well scientists don't know, tiny bit of a let down but some
mysteries are better left unsolved. The genders of these animals have one distinct difference
and that difference is that males
are much larger and I mean
much larger. Now my opinion on
this monkey. I think this monkey
is the funniest monkey on earth.
The nose tops it all off, why
would you need a long nose? Just
really. Also the fur is funny. It
makes him look very chubby and
the orange fur mixed with the
white fur.

Crabs

Hi welcome back to the Scribbler
where I will be writing about
crabs, crabs are crustaceans and
live most of their life underwater,
or on shores. These creatures are
at the bottom of the food chain
and get eaten by sting rays and
seagulls so it is very hard for
them to multiply, most of them
are eaten by seagulls, even before
they leave the shore. The baby
crabs live a rough life even if they
don’t get eaten by the seagulls,
they’ve still got the sting rays but
female horseshoe crabs lay between 60 000 and 120 00 eggs.
Unusually, when its turtle season
they don’t lay their eggs, the turtles only come out in the night
around between about 9:30PM
and 10:00PM. As they only come
out in the dark the seagulls can’t
see them, and they hide under
the sand but most seagulls can
see their legs sticking out the
sand and try to eat them. Then
they scurry back in the sea, the
reason they come out is because
they are amphibious and need air
to survive and have their shells
(that are really strong)
all
around them, like armour to protect themselves from prey. The
crabs have a funny way of communicating, what they do is they
drum their pinchers to either say
they’re in distress or they want
to talk.

Lochinver 1st Team Match

Today it’s another first for the
Scribbler, today we are talking
about a football game between
our own Lochinver and Westbrook Hay the game was quite
close with a score of 5-3 to Lochinver. There were some tight
turns and some really close corners with Ted Gibbs striking the
ball in. In fact before the game
started Ted said he was feeling
confident so I suppose that confidence put him through.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

I know that most of you probably
haven’t tried this but Clay Pigeon
Shooting is one of my favourite
hobbies, I like it so much that I’m
doing it for my ESB (the speaking
exams we do in Years 3 and 7). As
you may guess the idea is that
you shoot clay “pigeons”, with a
shotgun. I go to a shooting
ground called “Atkin, Grant and
Lang”. I go there every once in a
while, and every time I go I love
it.
I use a single-barrel shotgun but
my dad uses a double-barrelled
shotgun. At the ground they have
machines set up across the field
that fires clay pigeons in a way
like a bird flies or a rabbit runs
across the ground, but as you
may guess safety is extremely important. This varies from acquiring the gun, carrying the gun, getting set up with the gun, reloading the gun and finally firing the
gun ( I know, you wouldn’t
guess!).
Anyway back to the point. The
shooting ground also have events
where they have a competition
every month and every 3 months
they have a live release of pheasants ( don’t worry I haven’t shot
any pheasants…). Shotguns shoot
cartridges which are cylindrical.
There are 3 parts to a cartridge,
gunpowder, wadding and the pellets. The wadding is a fibrous material that separates the other
parts. When you pull the trigger a
hammer hits the ignition cap on
the cartridge which lights the
gunpowder which creates a small
blast which pushes the pellets
and wadding out. So that’s my
brief review
on one of my
favourite
hobbies.

Zika Virus “Cure”

I know that most of you may
know about the Zika virus, but
for those who don’t I’ll explain.
Zika Virus is a virus that can
makes babies that are born deformed so when they’re born
they have shrunken heads and
brains. It is also thought that it
can cause these children to have
learning difficulties. It has mostly
occurred in Brazil but there have
been a few reports of it being in
Florida and there are tens of
thousands of people that are infected.
The main headline that I want to
talk with you about is that some
scientists have found a “cure”
that protected mice from death.
This was quite big news but tests
on humans haven’t happened yet.
The “cure” called ZIKV-117 also
can protect the mice's offspring
from any damaging effects. If this
“cure” does actually work we
might be looking at the eradication of the Zika virus. There is
more research going into it to develop it for humans but nothing
is confirmed yet.
There also another plan to eradicate Zika. The idea is that since
Zika is spread through mosquito
bites, scientists are going to release mosquitos that have bacteria called “Wolbachia” which
boosts the mosquitos immune
system making them immune to
viruses, and then those mosquitos will breed with other mosquitos and make their offspring immune as well/ this plan means
that other winged insects will be
immune as well and other diseases
could
be
wiped out, and
scientists
will
monitor this other 3 years.
