General Properties and Applications
®
Baymer VP.PU 28HB88 N is a polyol formulation for the continuous
production of metal-faced sandwich panels having a core of rigid
polyurethane foam (PUR).
®
Baymer VP.PU 28HB88 N contains all the additives and auxiliaries needed
to produce metal-faced sandwich panels except for the blowing agent and
activator.
Panels of 30 to 200 mm can be produced with densities between 38 and 42
kg/m³.
®
When correctly processed, rigid polyurethane foams based on Baymer
VP.PU 28HB88 N can achieve a B3 flammability rating to DIN 4102 .

The following must be considered when handling pentane:
(applies to all isomers of pentane)
Pentane is extremely flammable and can form explosive mixtures with air. It
is heavier than air and can accumulate
on the ground or in shafts.
Please avoid therefore the formation of explosive pentane-air mixtures and
keep ignition sources (e.g. including
causes of electrostatic charging) well away.
Please note:
- the safety data sheet of the pentane supplier
- the instructions of the device manufacturer (e.g. regarding earthing and
explosion protection)
- the requirements in the plant permit issued by the local authorities.
other remarks
The use of other isocyanates and activators is not advisable. If customized
formulations are required, however, our technical support staff can offer
additional advice.
The temperature of the raw material components should be approx. 20 °C.
The laminating tunnel must be preheated to approx. 35-40 °C, and the sheet
metal facings should be at a temperature of approx. 30-35 °C.
