The project was initiated in 1995 with the aim of
describing and indexing quality medical and health care
sites and documents published in French.
French Three major

•Evidence-based medicine
•Educational resources for students
•Patient information
•And also Web sites from hospital, associations …

Inclusion policy
• Only Web sites from and full text documents published by
institutions (Government agencies,
agencies Ministries,
Ministries Scientific
societies) are indexed
• No commercial sites
• No personal web sites, except very high quality ones
Update and discovery system: 900 pages and RSS
monitored
• Manual and/or automatic (in-house software): daily
daily,
weekly, or monthly updates, according to the sites own
updating periods
•In addition: media/news, discussion lists, submission of
new sites to CISMeF
Priority levels for CISMeF inclusion and indexing
• N1 = Guidelines & Evaluation Studies = manual indexing = high
priority
