We have also been recognising everyday objects by their shape name, for example a piece of paper is a rectangle and a tissue box is a cuboid. cube pyramid cylinder cuboid sphere Can your child find these 3D shapes in your home? Can they label how many edges, vertices and faces a 3D shape (of their choice) has? e.g. a cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. Reading: Please also continue to read regularly with your child at home and comment in their Reading Diary. Every Friday your child will have the choice to take home a ‘class library book’ to share with you. This book will need to be returned the following Friday and a new one can be chosen.
