FREE POETRY IN LITERARY EPICENTER OF SAN FRANCISCO
Thursdays at Readers has been Friends’ highly-respected weekly poetry series celebrating
internationally acclaimed poets and showcasing local talent for the past 8 years. Past guests have
included Jonathan Richman, David Meltzer, Diane di Prima, California Poet Laureate Al Young and
freshly-discovered poets from sister program Poets 11. The series is curated by Friends’ Poet-in-Residence,
Jack Hirschman. Beginning on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016, the weekly poetry series is relocating from
Readers Bookstore Fort Mason to the beautiful new North Beach Branch Library.
Tuesdays at North Beach will take place in the historic literary epicenter of San Francisco, in a beautiful
new branch library Friends helped fund. As always: the event is free, open to the public and occurs weekly
at 6:30 p.m.
For a complete schedule, including a line-up of poets, please visit: www.friendssfpl.org.
