FIRESTATION 35 - PIERS 30-32 Presented to CAC March 3, 2014 FIRESTATION 35 - PIER 22 ½ -Current FBS is 4,736 sf -Operations Facility is 1,720 sf -1 dock -21 members are assigned to FS35. -There is a minimum of 7 members on shift at any given time. FS 35 - OPERATIONS • • • • • • • • • • Water rescue, Fire ops, EMS, body recovery, spill containment, PWSS & AWSS, Auxiliary water operations San Francisco is surrounded by water on three sides with significant maritime traffic and several bridges. SFO generates 1,500 – 2,000 flights daily with runway approaches over the bay. Commercial ship traffic brings significant tonnage of freight across the Bay and ferry companies carry millions of passengers per year. Cruise companies carry thousands of passengers per year, in & out of the Bay. Oil refineries for Chevron, ARCO and Shell as well as jet fuel companies such as Kinder Morgan have significant operations in the Bay Area.
