The Ortelius is equipped with Internet and phone facilities (subject to satellite connection and
coverage). WiFi Internet access is available throughout the ship. In each cabin you can connect your
own laptop to the network as well there are two laptops available for public use. You can either
purchase full access to the Internet or purchase a shipboard E-mail account for the duration of the
voyage.
1. Direct access to the Internet is provided by using access cards.
Cards are available at the reception in 10, 30, or 100 megabyte denominations. Prices are:
10MB for € 15,- / 30 MB € 25,- / 100MB for €60,- (unused data at the end of your trip is nonrefundable).
Please be advised that Internet at sea is considerably slower than at home and some pages like Hotmail and AOL may take
many minutes and a considerable amount of data to load.
2. As an alternative if you wish to control your costs and just need Email access you can create a
shipboard Email account.
This will just cost you: € 15,- for a 7-10 day trip / € 20,- for a 11-12 day trip / € 25,- for a 18 day trip /
€ 50,- for a 30 day trip.
You can stay connected to the local network as long as you like and send/ receive up to approx. 30
pages of text per day for no additional costs. Note that sending attachments with this system will
incur additional costs and your total daily allowance is 100k. Any amount over this will be charged at
€ 0,05 cents a kilobyte.
Please be aware that you are sailing in remote areas and there may be blind spots (surrounded by mountains for instance).
As long there is coverage there is Internet.
Telephone calls can be made from the ship as well.
From the bridge € 2,50 per minute (ask Hotel manager / HM assistant to assist).
Note: when speaking there is a delay between each speaker.

The cost of this call depends on the costs charged by our provider. Remember satellite calls are quite expensive. E-mails send
to the ship will be charged to the receiver, please do not send attachments and only use in case of emergency.
