Prayer Request Link Anti Human Trafficking - Prayer Request by Pricilla Santos As many of you know, we are in the process of expanding our shelter space for our human trafficking survivors. We are looking for a house for rent in Orange County and have been encountering a barrier where renters are worried about renting to us for the purpose of housing human trafficking survivors... which is an understandable concern. Will you join me in prayer as we ask God to help us find the right renter and the right house for our precious clients. Listen to the podcast where Priscilla talks about the risk factors that make a mother vulnerable to labor trafficking when taking a job away from home, explains what a derivative is within the issue of human trafficking, and how to improve the prevention of trafficking of mothers in Orange County and globally. As part of her role within The The Salvation Army Anti-Trafficking Services Program, she is tasked with the family reunification process and shares success survivor stories. The podcast is through Vanguard University's Global Center for Women and Justice! Fullerton & Lake Forest New Ministries! Please keep Brian Yi in your prayers as they launch new Salvation Army Ministries in Fullerton and Lake Forest. Major Keilah has started a ministry in Fullerton adjacent to the bus terminal in downtown Fullerton. She will have a Family Service office to support the community with a food bank and utility assistance. Pray for her as God leads her to new avenues of service and ministry in the community. Brian is in the process of securing a location in Lake Forest to set up a gathering place with a Family Services Office and ministry center. Please pray for him as he contacts churches in the area to partner with. Prayerfully consider how you might come alongside Major Keilah or Brian as they pursue God's will in our community. OC 614 Homeless Ministry by Mickey Jordan Jesus wasn’t afraid to give his ministry away. Biblically, there is good evidence that the disciples were all under 19, except for maybe Peter. So, Jesus didn’t just let anyone take over his ministry, but he left a bunch of teenagers in charge. I am not sure I am comfortable letting teenagers run OC 614, but this past Thursday I was reminded of the importance of letting others lead. Emmerson is young and works in a restaurant by day. Often he comes to help and this past Thursday he preached in two languages. He shared about his fears in adapting to different cultures, and encouraged our homeless friends to come to Christ, no matter what they are dealing with. What truly inspired me was the call for prayer he gave after. As seen above, many came forward while Emmerson held and prayed for those he could. Words could not describe the embrace and care I witnessed him giving each individual. I truly saw God in him loving others. Because of the amazing talent we are seeing through our leaders, like Emmerson, OC 614 will always remain a place where we encourage others to lead. Please pray that God will continue to send us talent, and we will be humble enough to equip them. London, 22 July 2015/IHQ/ –GENERAL AndréCox has announced that he has given approval for the work of The Salvation Army to be officially commenced in Slovakia, with effect from 1 September 2015, making it the 127th country in which The Salvation Army has a recognised legal presence. Interest was first shown in having The Salvation Army work in Slovakia in the summer of 2013 when it became evident that there was a great need for a ministry among the Roma communities –very much the marginalised people of Slovakia. Some existing Christian congregations were already undertaking extensive community programmes and expressed an interest in being aligned with The Salvation Army, as their forms of worship and doctrines are akin to the Army's. The Salvation Army was registered as a Civic Association in Slovakia in August 2014, and its work began to develop under the supervision of The Netherlands and Czech Republic Territory, with emphasis on ministry within the Roma community and a learning programme to integrate three existing church congregations into a Salvation Army structure. Eleven soldiers have been enrolled already, and all three outposts have recruits undergoing preparation to be enrolled during the official opening weekend on 5-6 September. Four candidates have been accepted for officer training. Captains Vitaly and Inna Chiriac, officers from the Eastern Europe Territory, have been identified to give leadership to the fledgling work in Slovakia. They will take up residence in the Slovakian capital, Bratislava, at the beginning of August to make final preparations for the official opening of the work in September, which will be conducted by the Chief of the Staff (Commissioner William Roberts) and Commissioner Nancy Roberts (World Secretary for Women’s Ministries). The work in Slovakia will be given oversight from The Netherlands, and the name of The Netherlands and Czech Republic Territory will therefore be changed, with effect from 1 September 2015, to The Netherlands, Czech Republic and Slovakia Territory.
