I’m writing this on Sunday afternoon, in between hours and hours and hours of NFL Super Bowl commentary and
while watching the snow pile higher and higher outside my window. It’s good to live in Michigan, right?
A few exciting things happening this month at the Club:
1.Membership Matters. Thank you, thank you to all those who participated in our Membership Matters program in
2014! This program is still very much alive, and we would welcome your participation again this year. Send us the
name of a friend, relative, colleague, or co-worker that you think would make an excellent addition to our Railside
family. We’ll thank you with a $10 gift certificate to our restaurant.
2.Restaurant. Have you met Chef Nathan? Nathan is our new executive chef. He comes from another Grand
Rapids-based club and has extensive experience in the restaurant business. Already he’s added a few new dishes to our
menu. Plus, Local Thirst ($4 burgers and $3 Michigan brews) is back on Wednesdays and our ever-popular Prime Rib
dinner special is on Friday evenings. You can check out those deals here.
3.Happy Hour. Our new happy hour launched this week! Great specials from 3PM to 6PM every Monday through
Friday. Join us after work for a quick drink before you head home. Watch Facebook for details.
4.Valentine’s Day. The restaurant is currently taking reservations for Friday, February 13, and Saturday, February 14.
Chef Nathan will be preparing a 3-course meal (including champagne toast!) for your enjoyment. You can make your
reservations by calling 616.878.1140.
5.Events Calendar. Did you see our 2015 Calendar of Events? It’s available now online. A full list of golf and social
events are included.
One final note: In March I will be announcing two events that will honor our friend and former collegue, Rod Van
Dyke. Stay tuned. Thank you – as always – for your continued support of Railside Golf Club and this community.

As we begin the month of February, Matt and I are here
working on everything for the upcoming season. Take time
to look at our tournament schedule here to see what we
have planned for the New Year.
Matt and I headed south for the annual PGA Merchandise
Show down in Orlando, Florida, again this year. We had
the opportunity to see the latest and greatest that will
change your game this year. If you are interested in getting
a new driver, fairway woods, irons and/or putter, stop in
and see us. We can help. While at the PGA Show we picked
up Ernest Sports’ new club monitor, which will help you
figure out which woods or irons are best for your game.
If cabin fever is starting to set in and you are looking to
get out of the cold to knock the dust off your wrenches,
keep in mind that all of our golf balls and gloves are still
on sale. Titleist ProV1 and ProV1x are $39 a dozen and
NXT balls are $28.
Lastly, we will once again host our Men’s and Ladies
League sign-up night on March 26. Please mark your
calendars and make plans to stop by the club that night!
