Charity and Justice Opportunities to Serve November/December 2016 This list is created in the spirit of “many hands make light work.” Each of the following projects already has a project leader who will organize and coordinate the project. Now that leader needs some help on the smaller tasks, like passing something out after mass or delivering something. The tasks typically take from between 15 minutes to two hours. These tasks are your opportunity to live out Christ’s call to serve your brothers and sisters in need. Please contact the project leader directly to volunteer your time and effort. Project Summary Charity and Justice Committee Hope in a Box: every day the Center for Hope in Flint provides basic needs to hundreds of our poorest brothers and sisters. We will be placing a box in the greeting area to collect different items each month. NEW Life Center: This center, run by two nuns in Flint, serves those in need with education and job training, provision of food, basic needs and many other ways. Advent Giving Tree for a number of organizations including Living County Cath Charities, LACASA, St. Anne’s Detroit and Genesee County Cath. The walk is 3 miles and takes about 1 hour. It is a reminder of the distance that people in undeveloped countries walk one way for clean food and water.
