Raven
A tale of the Pacific Northwest
The world was dark and cold. Everybody was sad.
Raven comes and looks for light to help the people. He sees the light in
the distance and flies off to find it.
He arrives at the Sky Chief’s house where the light is coming from. He sees a girl
drinking from the river and turns himself into a pine needle and falls into the bowl.
She drinks it.
She has a baby! It is Raven Boy.
He sees light coming from a box and wants to play with it. They open many
boxes and take out the sun which is like a ball. Raven boy plays with the ball.
Suddenly He turns into a raven again and steals the sun.
Everybody is shocked and surprised!
The Raven flies away with the sun and puts it back in the
sky again.
Everybody is happy that they have light!
