We are proud of Moringa’s Kente Weaving
program at the Moringa Community School
of Trades in the Central Region, Ghana W.
Africa. Like all our programs at our school,
the Kente program seeks to educate young
adults to gain skills that will gain them a
livelihood as an adult and help break the
chain of economic hopelessness.
Kente Cloth is an icon of African Cultural heritage around the
world. Identified by its dazzling, multicolored patterns, geometric shapes, and bold designs, the cloth is a visual representation of
African history, oral tradition, religious belief, and social values.
Tradition has it that kente cloth is woven mainly by men and the patterns are passed down from generation to generation. What is special about our Moringa made kente is that our organization is among the first to not exclude women
from this traditional art and craft form so our teaching program headed by master weaver and teacher, Robert Okyere,
is completely non-discriminatory. Our Moringa Kente program focuses on 4” to 5” x 60”- 72” very beautiful scarves
that are valued in fashion houses & boutiques around the world. All our students participate in the Kente Weaving program in one form or another. Our woodworking students build the looms, others wind thread, and all learn to weave.

Kente Donation Premium Ordering Information.
As all our Kente is 100% handmade, no two are exactly alike. As our inventory is constantly changing, we ask any
supporter donating $100 or more to please make their basic color and pattern selections from one or more of the eleven
groupings on the following pages of this brochure. You may request whatever quantity you like that appropriately match
the amount of your donation up to a maximum of eight kente pieces per donor. Our promise to you is that we will make
every effort to come as close as we are able to your basic color and pattern selection as best we can from our given inventory at time of donation & premium order. If for whatever reason you are not happy with the selections we ship to you,
you may send it back to us at your shipping cost through the USPS and we will replace it with a different selection.
