Note: When we have arrived at the Great
Lagoon we saw juvenile sharks swam
about, however we didn’t have time to
take photographs of them

Note: Some coral skeletons found, fish
ecology is poor.
Range: Sea 6 (south waterway exit of the atoll)
Sediment environment: coral sand (not
suitable for coral growth)
Coral Type: Porites lobata, Aropora
digitifera and Gorgonia ventilina
Main species: Abudefduf sexfasciatus
Other species: butterfly fish (Genus
Chaetodon) and Heniochus acuminatus
Note: The greatest difference between
this area and the north waterway exit is
that there are very few Aropora
digitifera corals here and we did not see
any coral skeletons

suitable for coral growth)

Sediments: a small part of it consists of
coral sand, coral is the main base

(table-shaped, branch-shaped), Acropora
dendum, Montipora verrucosa,
Gorgonia ventilina, Galaxea astreata
Main species: Abudefduf sexfasciatus
Other species: butterfly fish (Genus
Chaetodon), parrot fish, Canthigaster
valentini and Heniochus acuminatus,
clown fish, Lion fish, damselfish
Note: The state of the growth condition
of corals is quite good within the
surveyed area. There aren’t many fish
species, but the number of fish is more
than the other measuring points.
