What is an Invention?
An invention is something that was devised by human efort and
that did not exist befor. A discovry, on the other hand, is
somethin that existed but was not yet known. Inventions rarely
appear out of the blue. They usualy result from the bringing
together of existing technolgies in a new and unique way. This
can happen in risponse to som specific human need, or as a
result of the inventor’s desire to do something more quickly or
efficently, or even by accident. An invention can be the result of
an individual’s work, but is just as likely to come from the work
of a team. Simlar inventions have often appeared
independantly of each other at around the same tim in different
parts of the world.
