Book Report
Story Elements: character and setting (time and place).
Summarize: a brief statement that presents the main points.
In this book report you will summarize parts of the book you read on
layers of a sandwich. You will read your summaries as part of your
Book Report presentation.
Instructions:
1. BREAD top: Write the book title, author and your name. Under your
name, write, Genre:____________________, then, fill in the
information. Color the bread a light tan.
2. LETTUCE: Write a one-paragraph summary (5-6 sentences) about
the book. Color the lettuce a light green.
3. TOMATO: Describe or draw the book's setting. Color the tomato a
light red.
4. MEAT: Describe the main character in one paragraph (4-5
sentences). Color the meat a light pink or brown.
5. CHEESE: Summarize (5-6 sentences) your favorite part of the book,
what made you happy. Color the cheese a light yellow or orange.
6. ONION: Summarize (5-6 sentences) a part of the book that you
thought was sweet or sad. Also write what you thought of the book.
Color the onion a light purple.
7. BREAD bottom: Summarize and tell what you liked or didn't like
about the book. Color the bread a light tan.
8. Last put your sandwich together. Fasten it all together with a brad
or a ring.
