Steamfitters Local 353 will be sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive on May 12, 2017 from
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. By hosting a blood drive, our local union will be demonstrating our
commitment to community health needs, while helping to ensure an adequate blood supply is
available at all times for those in need. In 2016, our members donated 17 pints. We have set a goal of
20 pints for 2017, so we invite all Steamfitters, family members, friends, and neighbors to participate in
helping to reach our goal of 20 pints.
Giving blood is safe, simple and helps save lives; and each pint donated may be helping as many as 3
people. The American Red Cross is the largest provider of blood in the country, distributing blood to
3,000 hospitals nationwide and benefiting approximately 38,000 people every day. These people
depend on volunteer donors to give them a chance at life.
