Explanation of Ingredients
Acacia Powder – Also called Gum Acacia or Gum Arabic, it is the resin from the Acacia Tree. It is used in cosmetics and foods as a gum
type thickener. It also helps make mascara smudge proof.
Acai berry -possesses some benefits which specifically help the skin. Acais beneficial effects are from its high antioxidant properties;
specifically anthocyanins and phytosterols. The phytosterols in Acai reduce the erosion of our skins natural protective coating. This
protective coating helps prevent cells from dying and helps to protect it from the toxins that we are around every day. All of this is going to
make your skin look younger and healthier. The anthocyanins and phytosterols in Acai keep the skin taut and help protect the connective
tissues in your skin. Tighter skin means fewer wrinkles.
Allantoin - a botanical extract of the comfrey plant and is used for its healing, soothing, and anti-irritating properties. Allantoin helps to heal
wounds and skin irritations and stimulate growth of healthy tissue. This extract can be found in anti-acne products, sun care products, and
clarifying lotions because of its ability to help heal minor wounds and promote healthy skin.
Aloe Vera Gel – Antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-inflammatory. Research shows Aloe vera gel to be a great topical healing aide.
Bentonite Clay - effective and powerful healing clay used in treatment both internally and externally. In cosmetics it is used to help thicken
a product without flaking. Bentonite can be used externally as a clay poultice, mud pack or in the bath and, in skin care recipes.
Calendula – Herb that may speed healing time of skin wounds, abrasions and rashes.
Candelilla Wax - While our primary reason for using candelilla wax is for thickening the product, studies have also shown it to have antiinflammatory properties making it therapeutically beneficial for soothing many skin conditions.
Carnauba Wax - Carnauba is a wax derived from the leaves of a plant native to northeastern Brazil, the carnauba palm (Copernicia
prunifera). It helps give lipstick extra shine as well as making it solid. In powdered cosmetic foundations it allows for better coverage of the
makeup without clogging facial pores.
Castor Oil – Extracted from the castor bean plant, this oil has been used medicinally and cosmetically for years. It is very viscous oil that
promotes shine to the finished product as well as being a humectant. A humectant is oil that attracts moisture. These properties make it
excellent for lip balms and glosses.
Centella Asiatica More commonly known as Gotu Kola, Centella asiatica has huge benefits for the skin including boosting collagen
production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles as well as, reducing stretch marks and scars.
Cocoa Seed Butter - Those of you who have spent any time in the sun know that cocoa butter is very moisturizing. Cocoa butter is a
yellowish fatty acid obtained from the cocoa seeds and used in cosmetics, chocolate and soap. Pure cocoa butter is very rich and
moisturizing and is useful for rejuvenating all skin types. It provides a moisture barrier to help to prevent drying on the skin. While cocoa
butter is extremely nourishing to the skin, it also helps to preserve the skin's natural elasticity.
Coconut Oil - Coconut oil prevents destructive free-radical formation and provides protection against them. It can help to keep the skin
from developing liver spots, and other blemishes caused by aging and over exposure to sunlight. It helps to keep connective tissues
strong and supple so that the skin doesn't sag and wrinkle. The oil is absorbed into the skin and into the cell structure of the connective
tissues, limiting the damage excessive sun exposure can cause. Coconut oil will not only bring temporary relief to the skin, but it will aid in
healing and repairing. It will have lasting benefits. It can help bring back a youthful appearance.
Cranberry Seed Oil-Cranberry seed oil penetrates skin easily and is very moisturizing. It is rich in tocopherols (Vitamin E). Testing
indicates that cranberry seed oil possesses the highest quantity of tocotrienols (Vitamin E) of any vegetable oil. It also has a balance of
Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids not found in any other oil. We all know the benefits of the omegas on our skin; they include relief of
itchy, scaly, irritated skin. In fact the omegas are necessary for our body to heal the skin. Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce
the damage and aging caused by sunlight. When applied to the skin they also improve collagen and the elastin fibers in the skin to reduce
wrinkles. Cranberry seed oil also contains Vitamin A, which makes it a good choice for acne or blemished skin.
Glycerin - Glycerin is a humectant, drawing moisture to your skin, allowing it to remain hydrated and soft. Beyond hydrating your skin,
glycerin is also known to be a natural remedy for yeast and fungal infections, such as eczema and psoriasis. It is especially good for
sensitive skin.
Goat’s Milk – Our soap contains 10% goat’s milk. Goat’s milk makes soap gentle and moisturizing. It also adds natural proteins to the
soap as well as vitamins and minerals. It lowers the Ph to make it more compatible with the skins natural Ph. It is especially kind to
sensitive skin and has been touted to relieve an array of different types of rashes and skin problems.
Green Tea- Green tea contains many potent antioxidants called catechins. Catechins help fight damage to the skin caused by free
radicals. Several studies have shown that Green tea Extract neutralizes the damage done by exposure to harmful UV rays. In 2003, Dr.
Stephen Hsu of the Medical College of Georgia Department of Oral Biology found that green tea was able to rejuvenate old skin cells that
were at the end of their life cycle. Green tea may help increase elasticity to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. People
with skin conditions which are caused by inflammation such as rosacea or psoriasis may benefit the most from the anti-inflammatory action
of the chemicals in green tea. Green tea catechins are also anti-bacterial and can decrease hormone activity. Much of this hormone activity
is what leads to acne break outs, especially later in life.
Hyaluronic Acid- Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in every tissue of the body with most of it being in the connective tissue around the
eyes and mouth. It functions to help the skin retain moisture. As we age our skin losses this ability. By replacing this important acid it
increases the skins natural elasticity and tone, thereby reducing the signs of aging.
Iron Oxides - Although iron oxides can be found in nature (rocks, dirt), they contain heavy metals such as lead so iron oxides for
cosmetics are oxidized to take out heavy metals. They produce beautiful "earthy" tones and never bright, true colors. You can achieve
beautiful muted colors with these pigments.
Jojoba -Jojoba oil helps in healing the skin. It discourages growth of some bacteria’s and funguses that attack the skin with its
antimicrobial actions. The chemical composition of jojoba oil very closely resembles our own skin’s natural sebum, so it absorbs easily and
doesn’t block pores. Jojoba oil can keep your skin from becoming too oily. Because the structure of jojoba oil is so close to our own sebum
it can trick the skin into producing less natural sebum, which, unlike jojoba, can clog pores. By reducing sebum production and protecting
the skin from bacteria Jojoba can also aid with pore reduction and acne. It contains many important nutrients, such as B complex vitamins,
vitamin E, and the minerals zinc, chromium and copper. It also contains a lot of iodine, which is necessary for proper thyroid function.
Jojoba has traditionally been used to treat cold sores, canker sores and warts.
Lavender extract – Soothes chapped dry skin. Antiseptic and antifungal. Useful for many skin conditions including: acne, eczema,
psoriasis, scarring and stretch marks.
Licorice Root Extract Licorice root is amazing at lightening age spots, helping to soothe rosacea and acne and giving skin a brighter
more youthful appearance.
Lupine Protein Helps to protect the skins natural barriers helping it to retain natural fluids. It also helps reduce the aging effects of
environmental exposure of the skin
Palm Oil – One of the oils that gives that luscious lather. It is also a rich source of vitamin A and helps reduce the signs of aging.
Meadow foam Seed Oil Pressed from the seeds of the meadow foam plant, this oil is said to moisturize the skin, provide UV protection
and reduce wrinkles and signs of aging

very, very strong antioxidant
Red raspberry seed oil has a very high amount of alpha and gamma tocopherols (Vitamin E), vitamin A and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty
acids. One study done on the properties of red raspberry seed oil suggested that it may be useful as a UV protectant in skin care
formulations (Oomah et al, 2000). Red raspberry seed oil is rich in alpha linolenic acids which have strong anti-inflammatory properties
Rose Water- Rosewater is the water that is captured during the making of rose essential oil and contains the same benefits as the oil
itself. It has been valued by women for centuries. Not only does it have an uplifting quality, but also benefits the skin by hydrating,
disinfectant, anti-inflammatory and regeneration of skin cells.
Rosehip Seed Oil – This oil has all of the same benefits as rose water with the added benefit of being extremely rich in Vitamins A, E and
C. It has been shown to regenerate skin cells and improve elasticity causing a decrease in wrinkles, and replacing the natural color and
tone to the skin.
Sericite Mica - A group of naturally occurring Earth's minerals which are mined from around the world, purified, and crushed into fine
powders. The name Mica is derived from the Latin word "micare" which means "to shine or glitter." Micas use light reflection, refraction,
and transmission to exhibit their effects much like a prism creates various colors as light passes through it.
Sesame Seed Oil - Sesame Seed Oil is resistant to oxidation due to the presence of several cyclic ethers that exhibit antioxidant
properties. This oil is resistant to clouding at low temperatures, and is a great moisturizer.
Silver Citrate – A wide range natural preservative. Silver citrate is a water soluble silver salt of citric acid. It is formaldehyde free, paraben
free, non-halogenated and contains no phenols or ammonium compounds. It has no adverse effects on human health and is non-irritating
to skin and eyes.
Shea Butter - Comes from the fruit kernels of the shea nut tree. This butter has an amazing amount of healing properties and softening
capability. Shea butter has been shown to have anti-inflammatory capabilities and to increase the healing of wounds and improve scars. It
is used to heal eczema, burns, rashes, severely dry skin, and to lessen the irritation of psoriasis. Damage from the sun produces free
radicals, which in turn increases the rate at which skin ages and can even become cancerous. Shea butter contains natural UV sun
protection. It also acts as a natural barrier to protect against elements such as smoke, smog and environmental pollutants in the air.
Sodium Hydroxide – Salt that is created by the hardening of the soap, also called the saponification process.
Sorbitol – Emollient and texture enhancer.
Sweet Almond Oil – An excellent oil to nourish and moisturize the skin, sweet almond oil absorbs in quickly and therefore doesn’t make
your skin feel oily.
Tamanu Oil-The oil of Tamanu offers relief for a vast amount of common skin problems. Tamanu oil is has been shown to be an amazing
topical healing agent, with properties including: skin healing, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (fungi, yeast, bacteria and viruses), antibiotic
and antioxidant properties. While Tamanu Oil has been used effectively to treat a wide range of conditions, it is its cicatrizing action that
sets it apart. Cicatrization is the process that involves the formation of new tissue. Tamanu Oil is incredibly effective for the treatment of
everything from acne, scarring in general, stretch marks, the reduction or complete removal of unsightly age spots, as well as any skin
irritation or wound.
Titanium Dioxide - Titanium Dioxide is a natural source pigment, quarry mined and further refined to a fluffy white powder. It is commonly
found in cosmetics as a whitening agent and it is also found within sunscreens because of its impressive capability to block UV light. This
is why it is the first choice for powerful sunscreens.
Vitamin E - The vitamin E family is well known for its antioxidant capabilities. Antioxidants protect vital cell structures by neutralizing
