On Monday 4 November all the Year 10 and Year 11 students will visit the Gymnasium here in Ikast and take part in a presentation by the students studying the IB Diploma Programme. The presentation will be on ‘Theory of Knowledge’ this is similar to our Social studies and Global perspectives programmes. They are encouraged to think and question why we know something and is there another option. It encourages them to think about their own understanding of the World and it promotes consideration of how they interact with others. Our students will watch presentations by their students and then ask questions and give feedback. This serves as an opportunity to learn more about what can be studied after IGCSEs and it is a chance for our students to see what an IB students does. In year 10 the students have spent two Fridays learning how to tie a tie with Mr. Murrey. He broke it down into steps so it was easier to remember. The students were each given one of Mr. Murrey’s funny ties and then lined up in the classroom. They thought they looked silly but had a fun time tying ties, having a hard time not to giggle. It was a different but fun thing to learn in school. Friday, October 25 was Mr. Passo’s Birthday. He was so kind to call us on Skype from Spain to say hi. He had also made sure that there were ”flødeboller” to all the children afterwards. On Monday morning, October 28, the children and teachers really surprised him with a Birthday song, dancing and cake. They had rehearsed all week when Mr. Passo was on holiday. ”HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PASSO”
