Trip Packing List
Luggage
Each member gets (1) backpack and (1) duffle/luggage bag. A duffel bag is the best choice.
Hard sided or wheeled luggage adds 6 to 10 pounds of extra weight. You have a 49 pound limit.
On average, a Club issued duffel fully loaded and packed for 10 days, weighs in at 21 pounds
At hotel check-in we use stairs to move members and luggage to the rooms. We will walk up to
four flights. A duffel on your shoulder is much lighter and quieter than wheeled luggage. We offer the perfect bag; our years of experience have proven our duffel works. It offers enough
room for all your stuff, plus room to grow with souvenirs. Use our Club duffel or use yours, but
we highly recommend and prefer non wheeled luggage.

Shoes and Foot Care
Shoes
• Comfortable shoes help; we average about 8 miles a day
• Take a minimum of 2 pairs of shoes (one dry pair to wear while the wet one dries out)
• Nothing with holes or excessively worn looking
• Our recommendation is a comfortable walking shoe that is waterproof
• Spray shoes that are not waterproof with Tectron, Camp Dry, or other commercial water
repellant product; it helps, but does not make them waterproof
• Slippers are OK for the hotel only
• No sandals, flip-flops, or open toed shoes outside of the hotel
• Uggs, fashion boots, and simple canvas shoes are not the best for walking all day in
wet weather. I know, fashion over sensibility, but we tried
Foot care
• If you are prone to blisters, take moleskin and band-aids for repair
• Start each day with clean socks and dry shoes
• Finish each day by setting your wet shoes out to dry
Be kind to your feet. We walk about 70 to 90 miles over the 10 days on all types of materials from
rocks, sand, stone, dirt, grass, marble, and cement. Extra care to keep your feet dry and happy
will keep you happy too.
