Nutmeg Games
Success!
Last Friday, January 26, 40
sixth graders traveled to Mystic
Middle School for our 1st annual
Nutmeg Games. Students from
both Pawcatuck and Mystic
Middle Schools shared their
knowledge of the Connecticut
State book selections they read.
Students collaborated on different
reading activities. We all had a lot
of fun sharing, learning and making new friends. Thank you to all
the chaperones and volunteers that
helped us make this a great event!
Check the Library home page
sometime next week for pictures.

French News
The year began with a great start! The 7th grade
is halfway through chapter 2 and has learned a lot
about school and schedules for students in the Spanish-speaking world. They are currently working with
numbers and will do some math. The next topic is
telling time.
The topic for the 8th grade is family. They are
learning about relationships and the vocabulary associated with them. Physical characteristics and new
verbs will be the focus of the next couple of weeks.
We will learn about the Quinceanera as a conclusion
for the chapter. Adios!
The 7th grade students have learned the Days
of the Week and the Months of the Year. They
made French calendars to hang in their rooms to
use all year long~ They have begun learning Family vocabulary and will create French Family
Photo Albums – ask to see them at home!
Les élèves de 7me ont appris les Jours de la
Semaine et les Mois de l’Année. Ils ont fait les
calendriers français pour avoir dans leurs chambres
toute l’année~Ils ont commencé le vocabulaire de
la Famille et ils vont creer les albums-photos de la
famille en français – demandez les voir chez vous!
The eighth grade students learned Interrogatives in French and formed questions using them.
They are working on vocabulary of items in the
house and designed their own Dream Room labeled
in French! Combining them with prepositions, they
are creating sentences describing the locations of
items and are preparing for a quiz this week.
Les élèves de 8me ont appris les Intérrogatifs en
français et comment formuler les questions. Ils
étudient le vocabulaire des choses à la maison et ils
ont dessiné leur Chambres des Rêves en français!
En combinaison avec les prépositions, ils font des
phrases pour décrire les positions des objets et ils
