Winter Sports Assembly. Dec 13th CHS Large Gym 2:42pm-3:42pm
Junior Diamond Dancer Kids Clinic. Will be held Thursday December 15th and Friday Dec 16th for all children 4-13. It
only costs $20 pre-register and $25 at the door. They get to work with the Diamond Dancers, get a free t-shirt, and perform
at a basketball halftime here at Century on that Frida night. Pick up a registration form in the office or see the attached form

CELEBRATE

Interscholastic Star. Century is proud to announce that Adriene Pavek has been selected as the 4A Interscholastic Star
Scholarship recipient for the 2016/17 school year by the Idaho High School Activities Association. Adriene wil receive a
$2,000 scholarship upon graduation to use at her discretion toward her college education. Additionally, Adriene will be
awarded a banner in her name to hang in our gym as well as receiving a medallion. Century High School also receives a
$1,000 award. Congratulations to Adriene!

State Drama. Arwen Baxter, Rani Choudhury, Jace Horrocks, Madeline Malinowski and Trisha Enriquez placed first with
their musical theatre entry “The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee”. Rani Choudhury, Madeline Malinowski, Trisha
Enriquez, Paige Morton and Hannah Keating placed third with their original humorous entry “Soccer Moms”. Century took
25 competitors and a total of 17 entries to state. All entries received an excellent or superior rating. Both technical properties
entries (a giant clam and a guillotine) made it to Finals as well as the teams technical make up entry. 6 acting entries made it
to Semi Finals and 3 of those made it to finals. (Soccer Moms, Putnam Spelling Bee, and an additional original humorous,
My Debra). Good job team!


Transcripts. Seniors...when ordering transcripts from Mrs. Nalley, you need to allow a minimum of one week to get them
out. That does not include mailing time.

Challenge Test Dates for 2016/17. Come see Mrs. Nalley for your Challenge Test application and study guide

Class Photo Fee. Be sure that you have paid your Class Photo Fee to Ms. Helmandollar in order to have your school picture
in the yearbook!

C.A.G.N. Do you love anime? Do you love manga? Have you ever watched anime or ever had the desire to write a book
that tells about the genre? Then join C.A.G.N. – the Comics, animation and Graphic Novels club. Our goal this year is to
create a Beginners Guide to Anime. We are currently looking for writers, artists and graphic designers for this project. If
you are interested then please come to room C116, Mr. Miron’s room, every Friday at lunch.

Tri-M Music Honor Society. Our first meeting is Monday, September 19th at 3pm in the Band Room. We will be
nominating 2016-17 Leadership, which includes President, Vice President, Secretary, Media Team, Events Team. Our other
meetings will be held on Sept 26th, Oct 31st, Nov 28th, Dec 12th, Jan 30th, Feb 27th, Mar 27th, Apr 24th, May 22nd.

Tri-M Leadership. Meetings occur every Monday at 3pm in the Band room.


School Attire: Don’t forget to come see the new school attire that is hanging in the display case in front of the office. You
can purchase clothes at any time in the office. Sweats $30, black t-shirts $10, “C” long sleeved shirts $20, lanyards $5,
scarves $20, purple & white women’s shirts $20, Brite yellow shirts $5 and football jersey’s reduced to $15. We also still
have some clearance items. Check them out and get one now before they are gone! Hoodies are $30, T-Shirts are $20.

Drivers Ed. The registration period for the spring driver education sessions begins November 8th and will continue until the
courses are at capacity. THERE WILL BE TWO SPRING SESSIONS-SESSION ONE AND SESSION TWO. The first
session will run from January 3, 2017 through February 22, 2017. The second session will run from February 28 through
April 26. Class Registration is first come, first served. Students must have purchased a permit to be eligible for
registration – no exceptions. Registration will be held at the Transportation Department located in the back of the Education
Service Center during the following dates & times until the classes are full:
Registration Dates: Tuesday, November 8th until classes are at capacity
Office Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (Monday-Friday)

Racine Olson Injury Scholarship: This scholarship is open to high school seniors in Idaho, Oregon and Washington who plan on
either attending a 4-year college or 2-year community college. These applicants have either been a victim of a personal injury
accident or has a parent(s) or guardian(s) who has been a victim of a personal injury accident.
- Funds will be sent directly to the college you'll be attending
- Scholarship is a one-time award of $500
- Scholarship is due by May 31, 2017
- Winner will be announced on July 8th, 2017.

Towing Companies of Southern Idaho Entrepreneurship Scholarship: Applicant must be attending college by either the Spring
or Fall Semester of 2017. They must be pursuing a Business related degree or plan on starting their own business. The scholarship is
open to both College and High School students. Deadline is December 31st, 2016. Award amount is $500. Only online applications
will be accepted. The application can be found toward the bottom of the page at:

Montana State University: Each year MSU awards Millions of dollars in scholarships to new students. One of our biggest
scholarship programs, our New Freshman Non Resident Awards, are simple to apply for-all students need to do is:
Step 1: Apply for Admission to MSU either online or by calling 888-678-2287.
Step 2: Have ACT or SAT scores sent to MSU
That’s it, that’s all your students have to do. Just remember, the funds are awarded until they are gone so make sure to have them
apply and have test scores sent as soon as possible. Also have your students check out why MSU is such a fantastic university at

Eugene McDermott Scholars Program: Deadline Oct 25th, 2016 (early) or Jan 4, 2017 (regular). Please see the attached flyer for
more information.
J-U-B Engineers. This scholarship is intended for a Pocatello-area high school graduating senior pursuing a degree in engineering or
other applied science. The student applicant should be attending a college or university in the 2017 fall semester as a full time student.
The value of this scholarship is a one-time amount of $500. Applications must be submitted or postmarked no later than February 28,
2017. For an application, please visit Aaron Morgan in the counseling center.
Khan Law Firm Scholarship. This scholarship offers a generous $1,000 to a student of their choosing. To qualify for this
scholarship, you must currently be enrolled in or have been accepted to (and planning to attend) a college or university in the United
States. You must be able to provide an official school transcript or acceptance letter verifying your enrollment. You must have a
minimum G.P.A. of 3.0. Write an essay explaining your plans for your education. The deadline for application submissions is August
