Each student should be in his/her seat when the tardy bell rings with supplies. A student’s behavior should not interfere with the teaching and learning environment. Each student should respect all fellow class members and be kind. No judging nor belittling. No food, candy nor drinks will be allowed in class. Use of mobile phones and/or listening to music during class time instruction is forbidden. On the first violation, the phone will be collected and locked in my closet until the end of the day. The second violation will result in a discipline referral and the phone being turned in to the office. Doing or finishing assignments (copying a peer’s work) for another class during the lesson with result in that assignment being taken. If the student has completed his/her Spanish assignment, it is acceptable to continue with other work. Use of online translators on assignments will result in a zero. Students may not use my computer, printer, microwave or refrigerator; being behind my desk is forbidden as well as taking things from it (pencils, pens, etc.) Come prepared, ready to learn and have fun. A positive attitude goes a long way! Pacing: During the first couple of weeks, we will review things learned in the first level. It is a comprehensive subject; every new vocabulary word or grammar concept is a step. You need these steps in order to reach the next level. A foreign language is not something one can pick up the night before and “cram”. If you do not stay on top of it, the more lost you will be later on. There are additional sources you can use for additional practice: studyspanish.com and smartphone apps quizlet and duolingo. Parents and students, I also have a Remind 101 account for this class. Please join so you can receive any updates, announcements or study tips. To join, text @esp2brum to 81010. Foreign Language Club: If you are enrolled in a foreign language class during the 2015-2016 school year, you are welcome to join.
