Gulliver’s Travels Journal
Project
In pairs, you are to create a journal from Gulliver’s
Travels. Your journal should include the following:
1. 4 entries: 1 for each place Gulliver visits; at least ½ page DS if typed
or 1 page handwritten DS.
He visits Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and Houyhnhnm.
2. entries in chronological order with a date and name of the land
visited for each (during any eight year period in the 1700s)
3. entries in first person that tell what happens on the journey, that
describe the people and places he visits, and that also include
Gulliver’s reactions, feelings, thoughts on his experiences
4. entries must demonstrate how Swift creates satire to depict the
person or place in that entry (the people are tiny because….)
5. illustrations for each entry (may be drawn, cut from magazines,
computer generated, not from a Gulliver’s Travels)
6. you may use any format for the journal: electronic or paper
7. each entry on a separate page (Do not use notebook paper)
8. entries and illustrations neatly, attractively, and legibly done
9. an attractive, creative, original cover and content
10.correct language conventions (grammar, usage, and mechanics)
 This project is due whether you are in class on the due date or not.
