A Night With Clara Barton
Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m.
In celebration of Women's History Month, Carol
Starre-Kmiecik will perform a one woman show about
Civil War nurse and founder of the Red Cross Clara
Barton at the Main Library in the Garfield Room.
Starre-Kmiecik is the writer, actor and producer of the
one-woman production company Famous American
Women. Her mission is to tell the life stories of courageous women who overcame such obstacles as poverty, abuse, prejudice and widowhood to make significant contributions to our
country. She spends hours poring over books and research and searching for
vintage clothing to bring her characters to life.

A speaker from the Master Gardeners will talk about perennials for non-stop
color. Your garden can be colorful all year long. This presentation will
demonstrate season of color and give planting and care suggestions.

Dementia Series: Combative Behavior @ Main
Monday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m.in the Garfield Room
All behaviors are a form of communication. You will be able to identify
common triggers and early signs of combative behavior and apply strategies to
prevent or modify potential combative behavior. The library is partnering with
Kemper House to present this program. Registration is required.

Join James A. Garfield National Historic Site staff and volunteers at Mentor
Public Library on the second Wednesday of each month for a new talk on
“Major Battles of the Civil War!” This month’s program will discuss the end
of the Petersburg Siege and the road to Appomattox. Program is free of
charge; please make a free reservation by calling Mentor Public Library at
440-255-8811, extension 215. Attendees are invited to bring a lunch to enjoy
during the talk.
