November 2016 Workshops
WS- 1103 Bead Bazaar & Jewelry Making

Thursday, November 3 & 10, 2016 1-2:30pm Room 18 $15 (Non-members $18)
This 2 day workshop will show students the fundamental techniques used to create an
amazing variety of unique jewelry and accessories. Students will choose from thousands of
styles of beads in many different media while having fun and building a broad skill base to get
started making beautiful, timeless jewelry. This is the perfect experience for beginners or those
students wanting to explore many crafting techniques from beading to wire-wrapping and
beyond. Students may choose to make earrings, necklaces, bracelets, keychains, rosaries, fan
pulls or any other project they can imagine. Students will be shown how to string and knot
pearls, stones, and beads, and will also learn about rhythm and flow in jewelry design. Students
may wish to explore wire-wrapping to link various elements using wire. Materials will be
purchased at wholesale prices during the class. Materials Required:Students may bring a set of small
pliers; the instructor will also have some on hand for purchase. Students will purchase beads from the
Instructor to make their jewelry; $20 to $30 will cover several pieces of nice jewelry. Max 30
WS-1105 CPR & AED Heart Saver workshop

This workshop teaches the techniques of CPR and AED according to the American
Heart Association. This class is Heart Saver’s CPR/AED-not for Health Care provider

Quilling is essentially the art of paper sculpture. This beautiful old art form can be
mastered easily following the basic technique and using the materials provided in this
introductory workshop. In this workshop, students will be provided with the materials
and equipment that will enable them to develop a hobby that produces lovely accents,
ornaments, and three-dimensional pictures to enhance gifts and cards. $15.00 materials fee
to Instructor. Carol loves this hobby and wishes to share it with anyone who wishes to explore an old art
form with practical application. Max 5

In this informative workshop, students will be introduced to the fun world of Facebook
and Skype and be taught how to use both of these free social media sites to connect
with both family and friends, near and far. Students will be shown how to make an
online phone call or video and learn how to share photos with friends and family.
Students will be given the necessary tools to sign up for both sites and be shown how to
have fun and stay safe, too. Students must bring own Smartphone or Tablet to class. Max 14

WS-1140 Creating Your Own Holiday Decorations

This two day workshop will present ideas for making holiday ornaments and decorations. During
the workshop, various ideas will be demonstrated using everyday items along with some
specific purchased items to make decorations for the home or yard. Participants will be
encouraged to bring in oddball items of mostly unused or not so obvious materials to create
unique and wonderful decorations. Students will be given a supply list of proposed items to bring. There
will be a minimal materials fee to Instructor for materials pre-bought to expedite the creative projects. Max
