Transforming East Ayrshire
Your enhanced recycling service is part of East Ayrshire
Council’s Transformation Strategy for waste which allows
you to recycle a wide range of materials at home. When
fully introduced across East Ayrshire (by Autumn 2014)
there will be very little waste that cannot be recycled
from home.
Therefore, from April 2015, East Ayrshire Council will
introduce an extended collection service for your general
waste container, which means that your green bin will no
longer be collected every two weeks.
Details to follow during 2014/15

What happens to the
materials I recycle?
The materials we collect from your recycling containers and bags are
taken to special processing plants where they are recycled and turned
into valuable new resources.
Your food waste is taken to a special processing plant where it is
recycled and turned into valuable resources such as agricultural
fertiliser and energy.
