Choose three of the above essays or poems and respond to the writing prompt below;
one of your choices must include examination of the use of personification in the Bible.
WRITING PROMPT: One of the techniques that an author uses to express a specific message in
a work of literature is through the use of figurative language. One method for doing this is to
use personification to draw a reader’s attention. In an insightful, well-written five-paragraph
essay, explore the author’s use of personification to reach his reader. You must examine three
separate poems or essays–including one Bible story or verse–that utilize this technique and
address what the author’s use of personification does to the reader or does for the literature.
Your essay should examine why an author author would use personification in a piece of literature.
Begin with a catchy introduction that tells me why personification is a popular literary
technique. Within the essay explain what the use of personification accomplishes? Explain
HOW the author uses personification in each piece, and conclude with the reasons authors
employ this technique.

USE THE LAST TWO REFERENCES AT THE TOP OF THIS ASSIGNMENT TO IDENTIFY
BIBLE STORIES THAT INCORPORATE PERSONIFICATION. DO NOT JUST USE THE
SINGLE VERSES LISTED, BUT RATHER GO TO THE STORY AND REFERENCED AND
