Dino has been in the restaurant business for approximately 15 years. If you haven't yet been there to try out their all-day breakfast or lunch or dinner options, you are missing out. For more information, call 660-339-7016. 2 TITLE MTEXT i s s o T r e n t o n , u r i BUSINESS HIGHLIGHTS Republican Times The locally-owned Republican-Times is now in its 152nd year of serving the residents of Trenton, Grundy County and the surrounding area. The newspaper is published Monday through Friday to subscribers both in print as well as online. The Republican-Times also publishes the Green Hills Weekly, an advertising publication that goes to every household in a four-county area. There are 10 full-time employees, three part-time and a dozen independent contractors that deliver the two publications. The focus of the Republican-Times is local news and sports coverage of activities throughout the region, including stories and photographs. The newspaper is also a member of the Missouri Press Association and The Associated Press. PAR Broadcast Group ( KTTN AM/FM & KGOZ FM) There are three radio stations operating at 804 Main in Trenton. KTTN AM 1600 went on the air April 1955, operating from an upstairs location at 9th and Washington. New building was constructed at 8th and Main in early 1960’s and KTTN AM moved in. KTTN FM, now at 92.3, came on air September 1978 & began operating 24 hours per day as of 1992. KGOZ FM at 101.7 started on the air in June 1994. All three stations are promoted through PAR Broadcast Group. Stations are owned by John (Anthony) Ausberger and wife Carol Ausberger. They employ 15 part and full time persons. Community Calendar Though the Chamber has had a community calendar on the website for a long time, we have recently updated it. The public is now able to submit their events directly from a link on the calendar. All submissions are subject to Chamber’s approval. When you scroll to the bottom of the calendar, there is a button you can click to ‘Add Event’. Another feature with the updated calendar is a discussion board. Classes are open to girls and women ages 13 years and older. The event is limited to the first 45 paid participants. For more information call DeAn at (660)359-2874. 4 TITLE MTEXT i s s o T r e n t o n , u r i The Green Hills Women’s Shelter: Building Hope for the Future The Green Hills Women’s Shelter has begun the campaign to build a new shelter in Trenton. The new facility will be larger, hosting four family units and five individual units. Two kitchens in the new facility will allow for the increased number of residents to create meals for their families. Residents in the new shelter will have access to increased bathroom facilities also. The new facility has office space for on-site counseling. A large conference room will also be available for workshops and trainings for residents, non-residents, and staff. Safety will be addressed with the addition of a buzz-in alarm system, fire control, and an alarm/surveillance system. An added layer of protection will be created by the location of the shelter being across the street from the law enforcement center. Funds have already been collected through a $500,000 Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Grant of which over $300,000 dollars worth of 70% credits have been sold. The shelter is seeking buyers for the remaining 70% NAP Credits, as well as some 50% Credits. Since the Green Hills Women’s Shelter is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, any donation is tax deductible and appreciated.
