Bandit’s Chowdown Prep & Ingredients 16-qt stew pot with cover enough olive oil to coat bottom of pot 5-6 lbs. ground beef 2 50-oz cans chicken broth 4 cups water 1 3-lb bag frozen peas 1 3-lb bag brown rice Directions 1. Brown ground beef in olive oil. 2. When beef is cooked, add broth, water, and peas. (Note that broth and water amount to just over a gallon of liquid; you can also just dump in a gallon jug of water and add a bunch of bouillon cubes.) 3. Bring to a boil. 4. Add brown rice, stir well, cover, and bring to a boil again. 5. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 hour. 6. Remove from heat and let cool overnight. Makes approximately 40-45 cups of food. Portion Size The below is just a guide. Your dog may need more or less. Watch your dog’s weight and adjust the amount you are feeding if he loses or gains weight 10 Pound dog 3/4 to 1 1/4 cups 20 pound dog 1 1/2 - 2 cups 40 pound dog 2 2/3 to 3 1/3 cups 60 pound dog 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 cups 80 pound dog 4 1/2 to 5 2/3 cups I separate cooled product into containers that hold 4 cups. I have two 60lb dogs and they get around 4 cups each as a daily portion. I warm the containers in the microwave if I’m in a hurry to get them room temperature. I add the supplements (See www.rolloveru.org/recipes to view my list.) and serve my very excited dogs.
