2013 ANNUAL CONFERENCE REGION GRANTS

Where is the next IIMC
The Board approved two grants per region to be used toward the 2013 Conference in Atlantic City, NJ.
The grant allows two members in each Region an opportunity to receive a grant award, covering
registration, for the 2013 Conference. Grant information is available on the IIMC website.

SPECIAL MESSAGE TO IIMC MEMBERS
I know that many of you are still thinking and praying for our members that experienced the full
impact of Hurricane Sandy. Many of them are still dealing with the aftermath of this storm and will
be doing so for a long time.

At our Mid-Year meeting in November, the Board agreed to offering an opportunity for our members
to show your support in a tangible way. There is a company in the Springfield, MO area that is selling
“Stronger than Sandy” t-shirts. The shirts sell for $10, with $6 from each shirt going to Convoy of
Hope, for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Below is a photo of the shirt and website information.

FACC/ Florida Institute Webinar- ALL WELCOME!
News Alert! The Florida Association of City Clerks will be holding a two-hour webinar on “Succession
Planning” this Thursday, December 13, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 pm (EST) and they have a few more
lines available for City Clerks in other locations who would like to attend. Although this particular
“Succession Planning” module was developed for the City of Delray Beach, Florida, it is not “statespecific” and encompasses broad concepts and strategies for every municipal
organization. Registration is $75 per person and can be faxed or emailed to Liane Schrader at the
Florida League of Cities (please contact Amy Brewer for registration forms). Once your registration is
received, FACC/FIG will send you instructions for logging in and participating in this very important

webinar! You only need a phone line (the call-in number is toll-free) and an internet connection. If

The Quill Award is a prestigious award established to recognize Municipal Clerks who have
distinguished themselves by making a significant and exemplary contribution to their community,
their state or province and, in particular, IIMC and their peers. Find more information, or nominate

PROGRAM EXCELLENCE IN GOVERNANCE
The Program Excellence in Governance Award fosters excellence in governance and to enhance
participation by IIMC members in their government entity and community. The award encourages
members to strive for excellence and to seek greater opportunities to develop innovative programs
and techniques that will greatly benefit their communities and citizens and results in increased
professional development and stature for Municipal Clerks.
The award is to be given to those IIMC members (as defined by IIMC's Constitution) who have
created and implemented programs or can provide specific examples of the elements of superior
leadership as outlined in the seven adopted criteria.

IIMC encourages any member interested in applying for the Board of Directors to attend the
upcoming Annual Board meeting to get a perspective on the Organization and the Board’s
involvement. The 2013 Annual Board meeting will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Atlantic City,
NJ, prior to the Conference.
