Hezelburcht Company Introduction • Established in 1995 • Specialist in the field of project funding, European, national and regional grants in particular • Employs 70 professionals covering all disciplines, the right specialist for your company is available at any time • Offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, The Hague, Eindhoven and Nijmegen Complete funding cycle We are a full service company, providing support at every stage of the funding process, including compliance with the terms and conditions of acquired funding Markets Thematic • Transport & Logistics • Sustainability • Water • Innovation • Energy and environment • International • High tech • Spatial planning • ICT • Education • Life Science, Health and • Food • Public sector Social policies TEN-T Funded Project Electricity connection points Project • Greening temperature controlled road transport through electricity connection points at parking lots across European transport corridors • Study with real life trial (40 locations) • Deployment in eleven countries • € 1,391,000 EU funding (50%) Trans-European Network Transport (TEN-T) Established by the European Commission in 1996 Competitiveness The objectives of the funding period is based on the White Paper on Transport: Roadmap To A Single European Transport Area (2011) Infrastructure EU Network Smart Sustainable Connected Efficient Integrated Job creation Cohesion EU Funding objectives From Patchwork To Network CEF Transport • The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Transport programme aims to realise an efficient and sustainable transport network to meet the ever increasing demands of the European transport sector for both passengers and goods. • The CEF additionally stimulates the transition to a sustainable and integrated transport network. • Projects that are aimed at (technological) innovations with clear environmental benefits are stimulated, such projects must reduce emission and allow for greater independence of fossil fuels. TEN-T/CEF-T Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) € 33,2 mld Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) Trans-European Energy Network (TEN-E) € 26,3 mld € 5,9 mld TEN-T (Funding period 2007-2013) CEF-T (Funding period 2014 – 2020) Telecom Guidelines € 1,1 mld Funding objectives • Removing bottlenecks and bridging missing links • Ensuring sustainable and efficient transport in the long run • Optimising integration and interconnection of modes & enhancing interoperability • In the current budget period of 2014-2020 priority is given to cross-border projects and projects which aim at ameliorating bottlenecks. TEN-T Project Types Studies Three types of studies: (A) Studies without deployment, (B) Studies with regional or local pilot deployment in at least one Member State (C) Studies with deployment on a scale of a trajectory/corridor of at least 500 km serving at least two Member States. EU co-financing: 50% of eligible costs Works Execution and launching of an infrastructural project EU co-financing: 20-30% of eligible costs ECP project proposal Study: to solve bottlenecks for large scale implementation of the ECP network. Resolve the lack of knowledge and data on performance on a European scale, technical issues regarding harmonisation and standardisation. The trial covers the main area of the temperature-controlled transport network, and differentiates between the UK-Spain axis and the ItalyGermany-NL Axis. The knowledge gained in this Action will allow to develop a roadmap towards the deployment of a Pan-European open access network of ECPs for temperature controlled transport. ECP project proposal • The overall objective of the Action is to support decarbonisation and noise reduction of the Temperature- controlled truck transport in Europe via the rapid deployment of an open access network of Electricity Connection Points (ECPs). • The ECPs are offered as a sustainable alternative for the current diesel engines and supply electricity to the trucks during (un)loading and resting periods. EU added Value U K S p D N L B L u I T F r Application process Application package A – Summary proposal B1 –Applicant Environmental authorities B2 – the ‘Action’ Economic viability Technical and Legal viability European Added Value Approved by the Member State (s) Evaluation criteria Relevance • Contribution of the Action to the TEN-T priorities and it’s objectives as well as to the macro socio-economic benefits at EU level and the need for TEN-T support. Maturity • Is the project ready to go? Impact Quality • The potential socio-economic effects of the Action (at the micro level) as well as the impact on the environment. • Soundness of the project’s objectives and project management process Evaluation criteria Relevance: Contribution of the Action to the TEN-T priorities and it’s objectives as well as to the macro socio-economic benefits at EU level and the need for TEN-T support. • Reducing the dependence on fossil fuel, decreases emission levels, which helps prevent further acceleration of climate change. • The competitiveness of European conditioned road transport will increase and economic growth will be stimulated. • The network benefit of the Action has a European impact. Evaluation criteria Maturity: Maturity refers to the status of preparation of the activities, in particular the capacity to implement the Action in accordance with the foreseen time plan and technical specifications. In other words: is the project ready to go? • Proven technology • Co-financing secured • Development Consent Evaluation criteria Impact: The potential socio-economic effects of the Action (at the micro level) as well as the impact on the environment. • The study gives an elaborated view on various parameters: technical, environmental, financial, commercial and legal of the new service. • The study results present a clear overview of the economic and environmental benefits of the Action. The study outlines the benefits of the new service. • The results will be the basis on which to persuade new temperature controlled road transport companies, truck stops and transhipment places to join the network. Evaluation criteria Quality: Soundness of the project’s objectives and project management process • Experience with EU funded projects (FP7) • Experienced entrepreneurs with a network of relevant stakeholders • Experience with developing innovative projects aimed at promoting sustainability Organisations involved Nomad Power Coordinator Subcontractors Third Private Parties Energy suppliers Transport Companies Parking/resting place owners Logistics Supply Chain Parties Electrical engineering firm Dreamsolution Iskrea Technolution Utiliq Aspider Organisations involved DG MOVE INEA DG ENV Member State Approval BE,DE,FR,IT,NL,SP,UK,Lu Nomad Power Coordinator Subcontractors Third Private Parties Energy suppliers Transport Companies Electrical engineering firm Dreamsolution Parking/resting place owners Iskrea Technolution Logistics Supply Chain Parties Utiliq Aspider Member State Approval or Support?
